Iím sharpening the pitchforks, people. Smells like a bullshit bonfire in here.
@Phattso Iím not that bad but I see the point. If you can add me, Iíd like to join. Currently have Dark souls, spiderman and smash bros ultimate on the list.
@TommyUnderwear welcome to the club. Try not to get smeared in all the splashback from the scabrous hordes of FILTHY CHEATERS currently shitting up the thread.
Oh, and I think the first page is updated with the latest shenanigans except for a couple that want to backtrack to something they were offered weeks ago but gave it large and now have to live with their bad choices. ;=)
Can I leave the challenge and rejoin in December? I just think it'll work out easier that way.
Seriously though, you left off Octopath Traveller on my list. I'm 35 hours in and really enjoying! NO REGRETS!
Not sure how I missed that, but it's in now. Glad you're enjoying it! Even more glad that you're going one game at a time LIKE COMMON SENSE MIGHT DICTATE and not like CERTAIN OTHER ROVING HORDES OF PEOPLE.
@Phattso Iíll do my best. Iíve completed DS on the ps3 loads of times but was always with other people. The bosses just wreck me. I can see this being on the list for a good 6 months. Iím liking the thoughts of the challenge though.

Still playing The Witcher 3. Getting really into it now and playing this on the back of RDR2, it is incredible just how much more diverse and energetic it feels. Especially considering it was released so much earlier.
Determined to finish Uncharted 4 today. Then I'll finally have a free space on my list, which I'm going to fill with Red Strings Club
edit: actually might do What Remains of Edith Finch as it's on Epic Store for free at the moment and I've heard it's rather decent (and short). But Red Strings is still pulling me in a bit more.

@StixxUK Edith Finch is excellent and you can easily bosh it on the head in an afternoon. I've got Red Strings Club on a wishlist since hearing the soundtrack so I want to get on that one, too.
Can I suggest a rule update?
If you trade in a completed game and use the credit to get new ones, they donít count until installed?
It is not spending money.
Eg I traded in octopath and got both shenmue and far cry, which if I was on 5 games would mean by the rules you are out. But is silly to try to store that credit if cex has games you want to play later.

I think the only thing is that is we try to play and complete games that we like and have five or fewer duds at the end of the year and no unfinished 'good' games that get started this year.
@RyanDS whether you agree or not, what you're describing is basically stuffing the backlog which is something we're definitely trying to clamp down on. It's not like CEX or whomever aren't gonna have it later in the year - and chances are it'll be cheaper when you come to play it anyways!!!
If we made this exception, then there'd be an exception for swapsies, and Rogueywon's freebie keys, bundles, etc. etc. etc. I think we've mentioned it many times: this isn't about the money. This is about having fuckloads of unplayed games.
If you feel super strongly about it then just keep schtum and we'd be none the wiser. But know in your heart that you're a big cheaty failure. ;=)
Nope. That is a fair point. I am technically still in as I have games from last year on my list.
/must start keeping receipts if I trade in.

I have games I haven't started but were installed prior to the cutoff (and not in a 'I must get these installed before the cutoff' way). Should these be on the list or not?
I think we agreed that "installed" wasn't damning in and of itself when it comes to the backlog, but "installed and started" (even if only for a moment) was. So you're OK to ignore for now, but when you start playing they go on the list I think. Make sense?
(the exception would be if they had previously had substantial play in 2018 - that gets a pass because you've already put a decent lump of time into it relatively recently)
Any rules on buying collection games? I have a PS2 and PS3 and often pick up games for a couple of quid I used to own as I was a keen trader in, Iíll never finish them but I like to dip in and out and have a few classics and rebuild what I had before.
Happy either way, but itís stuff I would have finished. Edge case Iím happy to either not do for a year or carry on as I was.
Last year those were considered double-dips and we ignored them, but this year unfortunately for you everything counts. If you re-buy a game, it's because you want to play it right? So if you're going to pick them up again and play them a load, there's no problem, right? RIGHT?
Alternatively: just do it under the radar and don't talk about it.

Hmmm no, Iíd be buying them mainly for nostalgia. Dip in and out. So fair enough, I donít mind that rule. Hard line.

Spent a reasonable amount of time with NSMBU today. I can see why I abandoned it previously... The save system is complete bollocks. It encourages you to rush through 4 or 5 levels at once as you can only save when you complete a fortress.
I would prefer my sessions to be focussed on playing a couple of levels multiple times until I have collected the 3 hidden coins on each.
So I am now in a position where I have completed 4/8 of the worlds but have only about 60% of the coins from those levels. It hurts my OCD but the game brought it on itself.

Well. I just finished Detroit so that can be removed. I reached the main credits and enjoyed it. Iíve put a fair bit of time into Destiny 2 as well finishing the main campaign and getting most characters to a respectable level.
While it may be counted as finished I think thereís a bit more I can do with it and iíll dip in and out of it for the year.
Iím trying to do a hybrid of the big ten games in unison with this list as I feel that I often get distracted, move on to another game, come back to said game after a few months where iíve forgotten what to do and then it goes into the backlog of no return.

Nothing seems to have pulled through from my list, but I'll take the opportunity to alter my starting choices seeing as the post was pre 25/12/18 please.
1/ Odin's Sphere
2/ Resogun. (reach rank 30 on challenges &feats, currently on 24 and opportunities for xp are drying up).
Updated. Also took a very detailed census of our victims this year, and the first page will be auto-updated with some extra info-matics each time I update the state of play:
We have 67 victims, and this is how the breakdown of slots used looks right now...
...plus they have finished 12 games between them, so that's nice.
Note: demographic breakdown may not be 100% accurate
I done finished Uncharted 4 and installed Red Strings Club.
For the benefit of the front page, my list is now
Red strings club

I finished Abzu, so am just on one now. It was short, but sweet. I enjoyed it, but think Journey was possibly better.
