| I do not miss working for the civil service at Christmas time, especially how people with kids would go on about that they were entitled to Christmas leave more than people without children. Fuck that noise. |
Who's 'working' today then? • Page 2

Booked the day off, but folks in my office are there until 4.30.
We don't shut down at all for Christmas, just the bank holidays, but I'm not back until the 3rd. Not going to use the leave for anything else. -

Registered 11 years agoYip, in cleaning a now empty office until 7pm. Can't go home early as you clock in/out from one phone and they check the number matches. -

Registered 7 years agoDon’t even need to pretend to work, my work gave everyone the 24th, 26th (USA doesnt normally do boxing day), 31st and 2nd off extra.
It’s Thu and Fri this week that I will be “working”. I mean filing stuff. -

Registered 14 years agoI work in a toy shop so yeah, I'm working today. We're open til half past four but I've been promised an early finish as I have to get the train to my parents'. There are always quite a lot of people who are doing what appears to be the majority of their Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve. -

Registered 16 years agoIt really is just me in the office today, or at least on this floor of it (and it's not a small building). There were a couple of people around earlier - one of our analysts and a finance person in a corner way down the far end. But they've gone now.
Probably for me to make the call about what time I can reasonably head home.
Also, must remember to put some clothes back on before I leave the office. -

Registered 16 years agoI bugged out 20 mins ago. When the cleaning staff started cleaning my desk while I was sat at it and when the heating got switched off, I took the hint that building services wanted us to fuck off. -

Registered 16 years agoNope. My office closed up shop at 4pm on Friday and doesn't re-open until 2nd Jan. I had to do a little working from home first thing, no more than 30 mins though and was done with it. Will have to do the same for two more days, but that's it. Woohoo. -
