    1. God of War (PS4) (2/1/19) (9/10)
    2: Dead Rising 3 (PC) (3/2/19) (8/10)
    2.1 Dead Rising 3 Untold Stories 1 (3/2/19) (7.5/10)
    2.2 Dead Rising 3 Untold Stories 2 (17/2/19) (7/10)
    3.1 Overcooked 2 CNY DLC (5/2/19) (8/10)
    4.1 Walking Dead Final Season Ep 3 (PS4) (6/2/19) (8/10)
    4.2 Episode 4 (28/3/19) (8/10)
    Overall season - 8/10
    5. Anthem (PC) (3/3/19) (8/10)
    6. Gears of War 4 (PC) (13/3/19) (8.5/10)
    7. Crackdown 3 (PC) (24/3/19) (8.5/10)
    8. Halo Wars 2 (PC) (8/4/19) (7.5/10)

Planned to play Halo Wars first hut couldn't get it to start on PC so gave up. Sequel was pretty and had a shortish snappy story (I haven't played an actual Halo since 2...). It really isn't much more complex than the original Command & Conquers but I enjoyed it overall. Controls were a little clunkier than I would like (designed for console after all) bit dealable with.

Now to speedrun through Forza Horizon 4 campaign before my Game Pass deal runs out (in leas than a week) and if I have time finish Recore which is a bit dull at times. Still miles behind schedule but after Game Pass is done I can speed through some shorter games

Didn't seem to enjoy this one as much as previous ones. One more title in the first collection to go and then I have the second one to play through but I might have a break from the series for a while. I may have had the patience to play through them in their original form at the time if I'd tried them but I don't mind admitting I've been abusing the rewind and save features on offerin their emulated form, life's too short.

You're rinsing the mega man games. Are there save states or anything? Or are you just insanely good?

@DangerousDave_87 The Legacy Collection on consoles and PC has a rewind feature and save states. I'd really struggle to finish them without that ability. I did finish Mega Man X on my SNES back in the '90s without use of a guide or advice on stage orders or weaknesses but I remember spending months plugging away at it.

The rewind feature is a bit of an exploit really, in accidental terms. I've unintentionally been able to hit a boss and dodge a shot that killed me when I've rewound for a second or two, intending to jump or change direction only for the player sprite to have not travelled the same amount of distance. It's a bit weird to explain really, it's almost like you can still slightly control Mega Man even as you're rewinding.

I am insanely crap at the original Mega Man games sadly, although I have to admit I'm not relying on the rewinds and saves as much now as when I started going through them. I'm not sure if this is a reflection on the games themselves or my abilities, I fear it's the former.

I never actually played the games in their original form 'back in the day' I've dabbled with NES emulators over the years and always turned the Mega Man games off after a handful of deaths, I can understand how they had a hardcore reputation. I've enjoyed playing them but don't think I'd have done so without the functions offered by emulation.

While it's a perfectly fine game my enjoyment was hampered by the fact I chose not to drink any of the NPC blood. This was fine up to maybe Act 5 where regular enemies began one/two shooting me.

The story was decent, especially the consequences of some of your dialogue choices. Story had the potential to be a lot better but it was fine. If I played it again I'd embrace more people than a coked up Elton John.

That's the first Meg Man Legacy collection games finished. I don't think I'll be going for the challenges as I'm not fussed about trophies and don't think I have what it takes to get them all anyway. It seems the series was running out of steam a bit here but I enjoyed 6 a bit more than 5. I found the bosses a lot easier than previous games.

I'll be having a break from the series for a while but looking forward to trying the 16 and 32 bit games in the second legacy collection. I'll also keep an eye out for the Mega Man X collections being on sale on the PS store.

I'm counting it as an individual game like I have with the Mega Man series. This is part of the Disney Afternoon Collection. I'd played the Remastered version on PS3 when it was on PS+ some years back but had only tried the NES version at a friend's place when I was a kid. I prefer the remaster as it has more substance to it but it was quite fun as a mindless Saturday afternoon time filler. I'd originally bought it in a while back as something suitable for when my now 9 year old nephew visits. He rarely does these days and prefers to bring his 3DS or Switch anyway so the collection had sat there in my library unplayed, I figured I may as well do so. I might carry on with some of the others over the next few days.

I remember playing roughly half of this game when it came out, but the general buzz around it turned sour pretty quick. I kind of like the way it's structured, but it does seem to detract generally from the spectacle/story that made 2 & 3 work well. Wouldn't mind being able to go back on the multiplayer for this but it's completely dead. - 7/10

    #14 Golf Peaks - [100%]
Managed to tear through this in two sittings. It's a simple concept, has a clean and polished presentation but never really managed to challenge me with anything that couldn't be worked out with basic trial and error. There were a couple of good "aha" moments but the appeal here really is in a simple and easy to digest puzzler that'd work well on mobile. - 5/10

#15 What Remains of Edith Finch
This was so much darker than I was expecting it to be. That might have been my only expectation going in due to the visuals only. I enjoyed it, but it ran awfully and I find that sort of technical flaw to be distracting from a general narrative. Frustrating, coming from the team who did the Unfinished Swan. - 7/10

I think it's fantastic so far. There's hasn't been as much immediate depth, but I'm looking forward to coming back for a second playthrough with more understanding of how the systems play together.

My PC died on it's arse lastnight thanks to the last Win10 updates putting it in a blue screen loop and repairing. I'd planned for this morning to remove the latest broken ones and turn off auto update for a while but I left it too late and was forced to reset the bloody thing. Most of my games content is on other drives and was largely unaffected but it took 28 hours of GTA IV progress with it which has pissed me off. Wnyway, whilst buggering about with reinstalling and repairing directories I played some more of the Disney stuff on the PS4 as it was undemanding and meant I could keep checking how the PC stuff was going.

I think I would have loved Rescue Rangers as an 8 year old, more so if it had been on C64. It was pleasant enough, obvious kiddy friendly stuff that had no challenge, I think I would have got by easy enough as a kid too. I say I'd have been happy with it on C64 because it would have been priced 1.99-9.99 but to think that warranted a 30-40 price at the time is worrying. I know they were simpler times but that's near enough a quid per minute of gameplay, even to a kid. Still, it had its charms, it reminded me of the the Master System/Game Gear version of Castle of Illusion with the level design. I think it would have been great fun in two player as a kid.

TaleSpin was a lot harder than I was expecting. I love side scrolling SHMUPs but this is a bit lacking really, the crap rate of fire and enemy bullet spam is a poor combo, this too reminds me of a better Sega game, namely Fantasy Zone as there are some similarities in gameplay.

I might focus a bit more on some of my PC backlog next week if it doesn't break itself again.

    #10 - 14/03 - Secret of Mana (PS4)
    #11 - 01/04 - 428: Shibuya Scramble (PS4) Platinum
    #12 - 09/04 - Shadow of the Tomb Raider (PS4)
    #13 - 15/04 - Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (PS4)

Fucking hell forgot how long that final case is, probably the size of the other four combined or not far off. Super game though.

Think before I tackle the second, will do something else like Trails of Cold Steel, Devil May Cry V or RDR2.

@Humperfunk Well, as much as I rate RDR2 as a good game, it feels like a couple of chapters of that game are about the length of many a regular game's entire campaign.

@Doomspoon yeah that's my fear! I've resumed my Trails save (still near the beginning), very much enjoyed that tonight so will crack on with it, especially as 2 and 3 are being released in the west this year!

@Humperfunk I'd like to give the Trails games a go, I'll keep an eye out for them in the sales either on PC or PS4. Good to learn that you're really enjoying it at present.

PC (GOG and Steam both have them all) has the most titles available in the series. It is generally suggested to play through the three Trails on the Sky games before starting the Cold Steels (there are two other games in between but not officially translated). TitS 1 and 2 were available on PSP too but 2 may have disappeared (was digital only). I need to get back to 2 and then buy 3 ready for my Cold Steel play-throughs (which I have owned for years) (as for save linking I think all 3 TitS games can transfer saves, and ToCS 1 save can be used in 2. 3 is stand alone savewise (although will obviously continue the story). ToCS 3 is currently only listed for PS4 bit I imagine a PC port may happen...

@One_Vurfed_Gwrx Thanks for the info, I'd seen that the first of the Sky series is cheapest of them all on Steam at standard price before sales, I hadn't checked GOG prices though. If the PC games carry over saves in the way you mention, that's appealing too. I have a huge backlog but will add them to my Steam and Humble wishlists so I'll be notified of sales. I hold a vague optimism that there may one day be a Humble Bundle with most of the games in.

I do have a Vita so if the older PSP game(s) is/are on offer at any point that may be an option but in truth I don't play as much on the handhelds these days. I know when I was playing on my PSP regularly some eyars back the TitS series appealed there.

Regarding PC ports, it does seem of late that there's been a surge in popularity for Japanese content on PC so hopefully it will happen, mind the PC ports don't always turn out well for other established series'. We shall see, I have a huge backlog for the time being so it's all about picking any of the games up at a reduced price and getting more games finished first ;)

    1. God of War (PS4) (2/1/19) (9/10)
    2: Dead Rising 3 (PC) (3/2/19) (8/10)
    2.1 Dead Rising 3 Untold Stories 1 (3/2/19) (7.5/10)
    2.2 Dead Rising 3 Untold Stories 2 (17/2/19) (7/10)
    3.1 Overcooked 2 CNY DLC (5/2/19) (8/10)
    4.1 Walking Dead Final Season Ep 3 (PS4) (6/2/19) (8/10)
    4.2 Episode 4 (28/3/19) (8/10)
    Overall season - 8/10
    5. Anthem (PC) (3/3/19) (8/10)
    6. Gears of War 4 (PC) (13/3/19) (8.5/10)
    7. Crackdown 3 (PC) (24/3/19) (8.5/10)
    8. Halo Wars 2 (PC) (8/4/19) (7.5/10)
    9. Battlefield One (PS4) (18/4/19) (8/10)

Finished the campaign on this and despite obviously being a campaign for a multiplayer focussed game (I bought this for 3.99 just for the campaign as I am interested in WW1 stuff) I mostly enjoyed it. The variety of stories was nice and covering some lesser known stuff in it too. It was pretty enough and I always liked the tech of the era. Shame I hear that BF V campaign is a lot worse.

Hopefully should finish Persona 1 soon...

    1: Aliens:C Marines (360) 4/10. Beat on 11/01/19
    2: Lego LotR (360) 8/10. Beat on 12/01/19
    3: Virginia (xb1) 2/10. Beat on 17/03/19

    4: Hellblade SS (xb1) 5/10. Beat on 17 /04/19
    5: COD WWII campaign (xb1) 7/10. Best 18/04/19

The snail pace completion of games this year continues albeit 2 completions in 2 days, much like Jan

I had "abandoned" Hellblade a few weeks earlier due to the endless Rune puzzles but I HATE not completing games, so back I went.
Overall I just didn't have that much fun. I know a lot of people sing it's praise but just as many complain about the sometimes obtuse puzzling.

As for COD, it was a pretty good campaign without being outstanding. Didn't play on vet difficulty as I just wanted the story and bombastic gameplay.

    Onward and upward
