    #1 - 02/01 - Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon (PS4) Platinum
    #2 - 04/01 - Far Cry 5 (PS4)
    #3 - 05/01 - Blackwood Crossing (PS4) Platinum
    #4 - 05/01 - Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight (PS4) Platinum
    #5 - 06/01 - Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight (PS4) Platinum

Oof, five done. Bosh! Probably the last for a good while as next two games on the horizon are massive JRPGs, so a good start!

Ok, I wanna try this too.

1- Ms. Splosion Man (Switch) 01/01
2- Hellblade (Xbox One) 06/01 Game Pass

This time, I'm also listing if the game is a "rental" or not. At the end of the year, I want to see how many games I've played thanks to services like Game Pass, GwG, PS+, EA Access, or anything else with a time limit.

Any games I play with these services count as long as it forces me to play within a specific timeframe. If I subscribe for a specific game but still manage to play more than one game during that time, they all count.

Xbox 360 GwG and Twitch Prime games on the other hand don't count because I keep them even after the subscription ends, so it's more like a cheap way of buying them.

    #1 07/01 - Yakuza 0 (PS4)

First completion of the year, and a pretty damn good one too. Love the ridiculousness of this game.

Will probably get round to playing Yakuza Kiwami at some point this year as I downloaded it when it was free a few months ago.

How many of those were started this year ? My first few games in the 2018 version, were actually started way before that!

I'm still sat at a big fat zero completed. :(

@DUFFMAN5 Haha, only Blackwood Crossing started this year! Although to be fair I wasn't holding any back, was playing them all actively but they just happened to have been completed in the new year! Probably did about 75% of Persona 5 Dancing whatsit this year though, but Spyro, Far Cry and Persona 3 definitely the majority was done (but importantly not completed ;) ) in 2018!

    #1 Sky Force Anniversary (Vita)

Decent enough little shmup, if a bit forgettable. Enjoyed my time with it though. 7/10

Forgotten how many good games there are on Vita (or at least that are cross-buy with PS4) and how good of a system it is.

    1 Miitopia, 3DS. 8/10.
2 Book of Demons, PC. 7/10.
3 Planet Alpha, Xbox. Gorgeous runner/platformer let down by rubbish stealth and instata-kill bosses that can only be beaten one way. It's just not as fun as it really should be. 4/10.

    #1 07/01 Yakuza 0 (PS4)
    #2 10/01 Monument Valley 2 (Android)

Another "all style, very little substance" puzzle game like it's predecessor. Every level is ridiculously simple and feels more like a tutorial for more taxing puzzles that never come.

    #01 05/01: Red Dead Redemption 2 (XO) - 10/10
    #02 10/01: Hitman 2016 (XO) - 8/10

Itís probably a 9 really, but Iím so bad at it it made it slightly less fun.

    #6 - 10/01 - Astro Bot: Rescue Mission (PSVR)

Tremendous fun and what an advert for VR. Didn't bother with the challenges as heard they are extremely difficult and can sour the overall experience, and after a couple I could see what they mean! But did absolutely everything else.

Finished perfectly in time for Tales of Vesperia tomorrow, assuming the postie doesn't fuck it up like today.

    And we are off:

    1: Aliens:Colonial Marines (360) 4/10. Beat on 11/01/19

Yes it is mostly toss, the one bright spot being the creepy and atmospheric level/mission were you have to sneak around the Alien husks. That was very similar to isolation.

@Humperfunk How would you rate the Persona games on the PS4? I quite enjoyed Persona 4 D.A.N and I think Persona 3 is probably the best of the lot?

    Anyhoo, enough guff.

    Marvel's Spiderman. 01/01/19 9/10 (platinum)
    Destiny 2 (Main Campaign) 06/01/19 8/10
Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris DLC 12/01/19 6/10

I had wanted to pick up a FPS at the start of the year and I figured I'd give destiny 2 another shot. The campaign seemed much shorter than I remember but it was still fun and the Forsaken add on seems to have injected new life into it. I also enjoyed the Curse of Osiris as it was included, but I'd be pretty miffed if I had payed for it as its pretty short and there don't seem to be many exotic weapons. Ah well.

@splosh Yeah mate, very enjoyable. They're different to Persona 4, i.e. no "story mode" and it's more having social interactions with the cast by completing certain requirements. As you say, 3 is the best of the lot in my opinion. "Burn My Dread" probably top 5 of songs from any game I think.

@Humperfunk Thanks man, I'll wait and see about picking it up in the future. Love me some Persona tunes. Managed to get the special edition of five in Japan which came with a nice 4 disc collection of the tunes from 1,2,3,4 and 5

    Marvel's Spiderman. 01/01/19 9/10 (platinum)
    Destiny 2 (Main Campaign) 06/01/19 8/10
Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris DLC 12/01/19 6/10
    Detroit 12/01/19 7/10

Had an interesting experience playing this as it was with the misses. She'd occasionally chime in to make a decision and the end result wasn't so good. While Kara and Alice had a coherent story Markus and Connor's plot made the characters seem as though they had even more irregular programming than usual for instance Markus would happily gun down people when I was playing but when she was playing he was a pacifist who ended up killing hordes of soldiers when I took over again and Connor,
well he felt like Kenny from South Park which made his plot a little comical
Enjoyed the game but some of the plots were just bleurgh. I don't know if it was growing up with the Ian Livingstone & Steve Jackson Books but I find David Cage's games to be a guilty pleasure.

    1: Aliens:Colonial Marines (360) 4/10. Beat on 11/01/19
    2: Lego LotR (360) 8/10. Best on 12/01/19

Great fun. First Lego game since Undercover I have played and only the forth I have "completed" as in got to end credits, not 100%. The other 2 are Star Wars TCS and PotC. I do have several on the 360 hard drive though, so likely I will play another this year.
I may go back and mess about, but for all purposes I'm done.

    #1 07/01 Yakuza 0 (PS4)
    #2 10/01 Monument Valley 2 (Android)
#3 12/01 Super Smash Bros Ultimate (Switch)

Finished the lengthy Adventure Mode with the true ending, and completed Classic Mode with over a third of the characters so I think I can consider this done. Such a brilliant package of a game.

I'll give this a go. I'm crap at finishing stuff that I've been sitting on for years.

    #1 06/01 Human Fall Flat - PC
    #2 11/01 Q.U.B.E. 2 - PC

Regarding HFF, it was ongoing co-op with a friend I've known since sharing Amiga games in the early '90s. We've been playing for an hour or so on a Sunday afternoon over months. Arguably I could have played through it all in one sitting on my own that day but still, it counts.

What a game! Polished off journey mode today. Amazing soundtrack, visuals and itís Tetris!

    #1 God of War HD
I tried this back when it first came out and I bounced right off the series. Not sure why, but I really didn't like the look of the game at all. Only went back to this because I want to play the new one and I'd prefer not to jump in with no context (I realise it's been made with that in mind). 8/10

    #2 Gears of War II
Admittedly, I have played this before, but it's been so long that I had forgotten most of the campaign. A friend wanted to run through it again and we got it done in two sittings. Probably the best Gears has ever been. 9/10

    #3 Yoku's Island Express
Interesting idea. A bit of a slow mid-game. I really hope they figure out a way to expand the idea with a sequel. This is one of those games I think would have benefited from early access feedback of some kind. 7/10

    #5 Tetris Effect 13/01/19 10/10
    #6 Beyond Two Souls 16/01/19 5/10

Definitely hasn't aged well in terms of gameplay but I was curious to play it again. The QTE events aren't as well implemented as Heavy Rains and the plot could have been better ( its not great to begin with but there could have been a little more interesting things done with it) and the fact that it ends indicating a potential sequel that will never get made is a bit of a bugbear for me.
Still you get to see digital Ellen Page taking a whizz in the snow. Worth an extra point I guess?

Very short, and pretty much surpassed by Astro Bot in every regard, but still a really good VR game.

#1 Shadow of the Tomb Raider: 7
#2 Battletech: Flashpoint (Career Mode): 9.5
    #3 Warhammer 40K: Mechanicus: 9

Very decent tactics game. Far above the usual quality of Warhammer 40K games, which has been pretty woeful recently.

    #2 11/01 Q.U.B.E. 2 - PC
    #3 20/01 Sundered: Eldritch Edition - PC

Technically. I defeated the last boss for the 100% resist ending. Twice. I encounter a bug where my character slides to the right and dies on the spiked scenery as the cut scene should play. I then respawn at the central hub and keep sliding until I quit the game entirely. I got the Steam achievement for defeating that specific boss at least.

I really enjoyed the game. I haven't had as much fun with a Metroidvania since Metroid Fusion on the GBA.

    22/01: Ys 8 (PC)

There were a few parts of the ending I didn't really like, but other than that, a fun enough jrpg.

Definitely not holding a "52 games in 52 weeks" pace at the moment, but we'll see how it goes :)
