Deserves it's own thread. One shot, eight episode show with Benicio Del Toro, Patricia Arquette and Paul Dano, all directed by Ben Stiller. The top notch talent is reflected in the amazing quality of this bizarre love triangle/prison escape/stranger than fiction drama.

Although it's set in 2015, most of the style and atmosphere feels reminiscent of some languid 70s films.

    An easy 10/10. Watch it.

Popped a 9/10 review for this in the TV Show thread.

Can't stop thinking about it, especially episode 6 which was a very difficult watch and completely pivoted our view of the protagonists.

Yeah, and that wasn't the half of it from Hacksaw apparently. He tortured that poor guy for 24 hours.

Yes and apparently popped down to Mexico afterwards to stab someone to death.

Can't decide if Hacksaw actually got off lightly being shot by the police. According to various reports Sweat is in solitary confinement 23 out of 24 hours a day.

Yeah totally agree with your last point.

That shot/scene, of Sweat running down the entire tunnel and out to freedom for the dry run was pretty incredible. It was presented as a one-take with one camera, not sure if it was though - there were some very dark moments and swoops that could have been cuts. That said, it was an incredible sequence.

Finished last night and it just totally blew me away.
