Whilst the cycling circus is getting into the new season in far off places like Down under and Oman, the classics are starting to slowly creep closer. I just decided to put a few dates in my calendar in anticipation. Some dates for your calendar. March 02 - Omloop Het Nieuwsblad March 09 - Strade Bianche March 23 - Milan - SanRemo March 31 - Gent-Wevelgem April 07 - Ronde van Vlaanderen April 14 - Paris - Roubaix April 21 - Amstel Gold Race April 28 - Liège - Bastogne - Liège May 11 - June 06 Giro d'Italia July 06 -28 Tour de France August 24 - September 15 Vuelta d'Espania September 29 - World Championship in the UK I've not paid attention since the end of summer (except for the WC), so besides Valverde being in the rainbow jersey this year, I'm not yet caught up with who transferred where, what new team kit looks like and even which team changes there are. Ah well. There's a month or 2 to get up to speed still. |

Registered 16 years agoI went looking at the weekend. I paid £39.99 for the year, which I thought was OK. I do wish I'd taken up the Prime Video offer when the Australian Open was on – I think it was super-cheap for six months or so. -

Registered 17 years agoI didn't realize Stybar had 0 victories last season despite Quick Step raking in over 70 victories.
I'm pleased for him.
Strad3 Bianche this weekend! I like that race. -

Registered 17 years agoI was programming the decoder for tomorrow and I noticed the Belgian TV will be showing the women's race as well.
12:25 -> 1 o'clock news: live report of the women's race
1:30 -> 1:50: summary of the women's race finale
1:50 -> 4 o'clock: live report of the men's race
Not a bad thing. -

Yes, he is. Quite a few big names missing though. No Sagan, no Valverde ...

Registered 15 years agoUm, what am I supposed to make of this?
Trying to watch Strada Bianche, first time I’ve used the Eurosport app-

The women are on, but only for an hour, at both 11:30 and 11:25. There may be the last two hours or so of the Men’s race, though it is either blank or says, helpfully, “cycling” and there appear to be two options that are on at different times. Maybe some highlights later, who the fuck knows?
I’m not sure how you can fuck TV listings up this badly. But, first use, I’m not impressed. -

Registered 17 years agoI loved how he powered through to catch them as they were stalling and then just went past them at his pace. That's all he could do really. Keep his pace for as long as he could and take 3rd after they inevitably left him behind. -

Registered 17 years agoI missed all of Tirreno.
Nice moral boost for Campenaerts to take the time trial win ahead of his attempt to beat Wiggins' hour record next month.
Nice to see some attacking on the climbs in Paris-Nice. Makes a change from the deer-in-the-headlights let's follow the Sky train for as long as we can approach you normally see in the Tour -
I just dozed off in front of the TV, watching the Primavera.
Woke up in time to see the mad dash to the Cipressa.
