Depends how well the backhanders/testing have gone. I think you’re right- Bernal is a touch green and Thomas will ride himself into it.

I saw Eurosport put Bradely Wiggins on a motorbike for comments from inside the race. That should be entertaining. :-)
He's already had a row with that Belgian wildcard, got fed up of calling it a "natural break" and just said the riders need to take a piss. He's good value.
    :-D

Christ, did you see yesterday's crash from Périchon?
I'm glad he got up and cycled off after that.

I'd only seen the aftermath. It looks as though Eurosport are offering an onboard camera stream throughout the day.

He just rode square into that and there were gaps to at least attempt to hit, odd.

I guess it's impossible to be totally focussed for the 5-6 or so hours they're underway. You get distracted for a moment and suddenly you're flying through the air.

What about the umbrella flying across the road yesterday? Gallopin had a lucky escape. I was impressed at Boasson Hagen falling right off the back and fighting his way back up to finish 12th.

Big climbs today to make things spicy.

24% at the end there, where the paved road ends. Madness.

I miss the old days where they would attack early on instead of the last Kms of the last climb.

Biggest drama of the day was Adam Blythe’s shirt in the post race wrap up.

    What.

    The.

    Actual.

    Shit.

    Was that thing??

Enjoyed that finish. Decent chunk of excitement... and nice to see them look human for once. :)

If they don't do it often, a spectacle finish does generate some fun images.

    Greipel

    Sagan
    https://twitter.com/Peter_SagFan/status/1149558357230944256

Did anyone see Van Aert's lead out yesterday (5.7k -> 2.2k)?
Holy Moly. 3k at the head of the bunch, reading for a mass sprint, and never dropped below 64km/h for a 5 minute sustained effort above 500 Watts.

    Indeed!

    I'm confused now.
Did Thomas' bike break or just his teammates?

    G's, I think. Left Moscon behind :D

ETA - oh, clarified by Kwia. He dropped a chain while Moscon broke his bike.

    This is exciting.

    Yeah, a great performance.

And harvesting all the mountain points for another effort and a run at the polka-dot jersey too

Love watching de gendt on days like today. Hero. The Way he held off Pinot and Allaphillipe was impressive.

Yeah, he has slowly and steadily grown into one of my favourite cyclists. Also, kudos to the magnificent spoilers from you cycling fans, it's one of those sports that you can avoid and catch up on and this is a nice way for the lantern rouge fans to stay in the game.

I saw that article yesterday. I saw the headline and though to myself "What on earth is the point of speaking to someone who got a lucky shot of a crash?"

It was as disappointing as I expected.

Tell us the whole story about how you managed to take the photo. What led you to being in that exact spot?
    Expected answer:
I randomly took up what seemed like a good spot.

    Answer:
Somehow I got lost and accidentally went through a closed road which I immediately deduced that the Tour caravan was passing by. As there was no time to reach La Jaillière I decided to stay there.

Did you have your camera out ready as the peloton came round the corner? Did you think there was the chance that someone would crash round that corner?
    Expected answer:
Of course I had my camera out when the peloton came by.
No I didn't expect any crash. WHo does that?

    Answer:
The sun was intense so I took a seat on the pavement where a road sign was creating a shad and waited for the peloton to pass. I didn’t expect a crash to happen, especially at the front of the race. I never choose a place expecting crash to happen.

    *YAWN*

Good ride by Impy yesterday. Tiesj did try to drop him before going into a 2 man sprint with him but to no avail. Deserved winner.

    Excellent photo.
I guess it's just a case of "Great photo of a TdF GC contender crashing. Lots of traffic to be harvested from this. Let's see if we can wring another article out of this event for more clicks."
