Registered 14 years agoInteresting after the Aqua Blue chain issues... remember Degenkolb hopping up and down trying to get his chain back on at the end of the race? He was riding SRAM 1x too.

Registered 17 years agoAnyone following Gent-Wevelgem?
If not, get to it. It's a cracking race from the go, with lots of wind. Echelons early on and a really interesting breakaway group. -

Registered 17 years agoI was on a 6 hour drive to Germany this afternoon. :-/
I was just reading the summary. That's the second time in 3 week's time that the women's and men's races interfered with each other in an unintended way.
I think it's positive they're organizing a women's race and giving them airtime but it looks like they need to leave a slightly bigger margin between both events. (assuming that's possible)
I'm counting down to Sunday now! -

flanders me daddy -
did my own mini flanders yesterday: 69.69 miles (nice!) in the pissing rain. I've really fucked my bike setup though: knee pain and shoulder/neck pain : /
think the knee pain is due to saddle being too low/high and think the neck pain is due to moving to a setback seat post, which means I'm reaching too far to the bars and putting strain on my neck. I'll swap back in the original seat post I think -

Registered 14 years agoThink he checked his elbow and, in doing so felt pain in his shoulder, felt around and suspected something was broken. Somehow nothing was. Kind of incredible to all but solo his way back to that finish. -

Registered 17 years agoHe had a really nasty crash a few weeks ago, which looked scary and likely to take him out of contention for the rest of the spring.
Then he turned out to be OK, with minor scrapes and went on a reconnaissance 2 days later, went on to win GP de Denain and Dwars door Vlaanderen.
Then today he seemed out of the race due to that crash at almost the worst possible timing right before an important climb. I think 90% of the peloton would have called it a day. He made his way back to the front and took 4th place.
It's baffling. -

Registered 15 years agoThis time-trial stage in the Basque Country is pretty gnarly. Thomas swapped his time-trial bike for the trusty Dogma… -
