We've been in hospital since midday yesterday. Still no baby.
I have one due in 5 weeks. This hospital wait does not excite me. I also understand this is the least of my problems in the coming months!

    Stay focused!

If you fall asleep (or appear too relaxed) you'll never hear the end of it.

Sure there is, but for most (all?) of human history people have been saying the end of the world is just around the corner.

Yet people kept having children even, say, during the bubonic plague.

And I'll tell you why! When the environmental apocalypse is upon us, the childless ones will be too feeble to defend themselves or scavenge for food, but I'll be just fine with my children looking after me, just the way the human race has worked for thousands of years.

    Muahahaha.
Not me, I'll be feasting on the delicious babies and children of weakened parents preoccupied with taking care of their young.

The Walking Dead? I'd have been roasting the chubby Judith baby on a spit even before the local KFC finished it's last shift

    Hang in there!

... did you know that babies come into the world already full of poo? Full of evil, sticky, green demon poo. That's one of the things you're not told in advance, I've found. For obvious reasons.

Heh. My wife had a water birth with my youngest, so the midwife handed her (baby not wife) to me so she could get out of the water bath.

So i ended up with the shit.

I think it brought us closer together. LMAO

The little fishing nets in the pool room reminding us that it's not just the front exit which might be used by mummy while she's in there
