The tweet wasn't that original, last year one of the Budgies on their football forum described him as a Thundercat on meth

I know there are always retirements and MPs stepping down at elections but considering we're about one official day in we've already had at least two new candidates step down before they've even contested their seats.

And both are remarkably on brand for their respective parties (one Tory for old rape apologist comments, one Lab for posting anti-Israeli stuff online that crossed a line).

I'm assuming we'll get a Lib Dem for something sexual and some too openly racist even for them stuff from the Brexit Party.

Today from the establishment parties -

No defence of free movement but the promise of special visas and arrangements for desirable immigrants

I.e. giving racists want they want with a pat on the head for everyone else

Corbyn literally announced he'd continue free movement yesterday, no?

Shami Chakrabarti said it was over and they would seek provisions in their renegotiation but that it would not be like freedom of movement because they wouldn't want that.

    Unless

Labour is looking both ways on Europe and just telling people what they want to hear?!?!?!?!?

Priti Patel was on the news this morning being asked about staff shortages as the NHS.

No actual answers just repeated the phrase Australian Points Based System like a robot. Obviously that phrase tested well with focus group.

    Q. How will you fill the required number of Doctors and Nurses?

    A. APBS

Q.So there will be more staff from outside the UK in the NHS under this scheme?

    A. APBS.

    What about Social Care workers.

    A. APBS

What about porters, cleaners and other vital NHS staff?

    A. APB aaaaahhhh well ummmm local workforce will... ahhhhhh APBS.

    Complete joke.

I think it was pretty clear she meant expensive doctors only and not bumwipers or floorcleaners.

I see France looks set to tighten immigration controls /without/ needing to leave the EU. Hows about that.

The report on sky this morning about the disabled homeless guy is fucking brutal. He suffers with incontinence so he cant even stay in the shelters. He has no family and gets no help at all it's so fucking wrong.

Makes me wish I was rich so I could just buy him a studio flat or something and look after him a bit.

Well if he had common sense he'd just stop being disabled and buy a big house.

My gran just had her knee done and when I went to the hospital to see her she was complaining that the level of service and care was nothing like it was when she had the other one done ten odd years ago.

That's what a decade of Tory government and a sustained campaign to chase away foreign workers will get you, m8. 30k NHS vacancies mean you're waiting for your cup of tea.

I doubt we'll hear another peep out of Jacob Rees-Mogg during this election. He'll be under orders to stay in his constituency and keep his gob shut.

Until they need him to spout some disagreeable nonsense in order to distract from much more serious failings

Seemed to distract sufficiently from the Honey Monster withholding the foreign interference report.

Ahhh the reality of living in a global economy butting heads with the outdated views of an ageing population. But then I suppose if all you do is read The Express and The Mail you'd think the NHS is in terrible shape because it's staffed by lazy people.

It's "funny" how Tories both realize the country needs immigrants, while also still pandering to their base assuring the gammons that they will stop those dirty immigrants from ever setting foot on proper British soil.

Basically the message to foreign nurses and doctors is "We hate you, but we need you. Please come to the UK and take care of us, but we will still hate you".

I'm not sure because I figured Bridgen would be thrown under the bus (God knows he should be, he's one of the biggest undercunts) yet he's still standing

That's the second time NI being in the single Market and having free movement has been described by the government as a 'great deal'. Didn't think Boris would slip up like Raab did, although maybe I'm being too kind.
