You can tell he's a Tory jut by looking at him.
I mean, LOOK at the sleazy shit.

Fuck me, Boris actual Johnson as PM with a huge majority, Cummings recruited a new top layer to Whitehall via Gmail, a Tory created Hard Brexit looming and yet this thread continues to be the fuck-on-Labour thread.

I get the fact that it's crucial to have a viable opposition but I'm now no longer wanting to follow the thread.

    Papers: "Tories killing kittens"
This thread: "Fucking Corbyn, Labour and Momentum are a disgrace"

Labour are riddled with a multitude of problems but I'm a lesser of two evils kinda guy

Everytime I hear a Tory minister talk about what they want from talks between EU and UK its things we already have.

This is one of the dumbest things a country has ever done to itself.

If you recognise itís crucial to have a viable opposition then Iíve no idea what you mean by the ďlesser of two evilsĒ. The reason this thread is so focused on Momentum and Corbyn right now is because of the Labour election, and because what happens in it will define whether there is any credible opposition to said greater evil, and Momentum/Corbyn are the greatest threat to that.

Plus the majority of contributors here are broadly of the left so weíre bound to have opinions on the articulation of ďour sideĒ in parliament

Not to mention it would be bloody depressing to read about all the horrible shit the Tories are doing.

    The Tories are despicable.
Itís crucial we have a viable opposition to them.

    Why you upset guyz??

    I mean, for fuckís sake.

Itís like going onto a Man U forum and asking why all the conversation is about improving Man U, rather than just slagging off Liverpool.

On a slightly positive note (for me at least), I got my Settled Status notification this morning. \o/

Just hope I'm not windrushed in a few years. /o\

    Anyway, gotta stay positive.

Are you brown, if you not I think you'll get more favourable treatment. Congrats though man.

Cheers mate. Been dreading the result but only because I'm an eternal pessimist.

And while I'm not brown, the girl I'm trying to court is. Thinking about it, I could use this - "Date me, or I deport you".

A brilliant article from the brilliant Stewart Lee. Although I quite liked Afterlife.

@You-can-call-me-kal yeah. People think government is the choice of the winner, when it really seems more like the product of a fight.

So RLB has committed to enact all of the Jewish BODís recommendations if elected (as have Starmer and Phillips).

    https://blogs.timesofisrael.com/i-will-sign-up-to-all-of-boards-asks-in-antisemitism-fight/

I have to say Iím very surprised and a little sceptical, however, itís a hugely positive step and Iím massively relieved by it. It now means assuming one of those candidates win which is likely, the problem will be very meaningfully dealt with.

I imagine the backlash will be significant.

I donít think the candidates could say anything else. Itíd be interesting to see if any talk about how theyíll do it to know how serious they are.

Starmerís experience as DPP really stands out in the manner in which he talks about these things.

Iím still not settled on a preferred candidate but I think for once the campaign will largely illustrate who has the credibility

Agree the backlash will be most damaging to RLB for this.

Curious to see Momentum activists kicking off that the groups leadership endorsed her without consultation. I think a lot of young people are slowly waking up to the fact that these old left dinosaurs arenít natural democrats

I very surprised sheís done it. Itís a no brainier for the others but for her itíll put off a large amount of her support. Honestly I feel like a massive weight has been lifted. Whatever happens now at least I can feel like I belong in the party.

As ever, the state of the replies...

Clive Lewis has said that Clive Lewis is withdrawing from the leadership nomination. That's also because Clive Lewis only got 5 votes.

RLB seems to want to team up with Rayner which is a bit embarrassing for poor old Dick.

Thereís also the awkwardness of all the major candidates saying theyíll implement the BODís recommendations, which would mean Burgon being expelled from the party.

Take away the fact that i think Keir Starmer is the safest pair of hands from the bunch of candidates. It cant look good for labour when you have 4 female candidates and they get passed over for the 1 male. Especially as they have not had a female leader yet.

True, but if they're shit candidates they're shit candidates. The tories have shown that gender isn't a barrier to ineptitude.
