Bookmarked, thanks. I'm involved a local Facebook battle over some new cycle lanes on our area, there's been an influx of fake accounts against it. The local Tory MSP has got involved, feeding on the hate and anger, I just keep pasting his manifesto commitment to a segregated cycle lane from the outskirts to the city centre....

Fuck me sideways... kids aren't going to be fed over the next half term.

"Free school meals will not be extended over half term in England"

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-55663564

I'm starting to think that Tories can't make it through the day unless they're starving disadvantaged kids. No wonder so many of them want to go back to the days of workhouses.

@Psychotext this story will now go:

    - We won't feed the kids
    - We won't feed the kids
    - We won't feed the kids
    - We won't feed the kids
    - We won't feed the kids
    - Ok we'll feed the kids
    - We're so happy that we're feeding the kids

    - Ok we'll feed the kids

    - Starmer, you should be so embarrassed that a footballer had to tell us what a shit job we're doing. In your face!

It is almost as if, you know, we should find the money to do kids lunches full time...

It would save time if they had someone in the room to counsel them to do the exact opposite of their first instinct.

Maybe they just think if they do it long enough people will be too tired to be outraged or fight back

It also feels like we have been conditioned into at least grudging acceptance that its ok to be ruled by sociopaths who wont feed starving children if they cant enrich their mates while doing it. I just cant remember when the crossover was from literally everything they are doing being unacceptable to just shrugging and getting on with it.

    'Huh.... tories, eh?'

    The BBC says that a normal meal parcel for 5 days of children's lunches should be;

    1 loaf of bread
    2 baked potatoes
    1 cucumber
    3 large tomatoes
    1 tin of sweetcorn
    5 portions of fruit
    1 packed of cooked meat
    200g of cheese
    1 tin of beans
    6 eggs
    3 yogurts
    1 litre of milk

Fuck, I only got the bread and the ham. With a packet of Tesco Value crisps.

Richard Leonard has resigned as the leader of Scottish Labour: https://twitter.com/lewis_goodall/status/1349748594555854848?s=20

Going to be very interesting to see who they appoint as leader with the May elections coming up and how they choose to position themselves in terms of the case to hold another IndyRef.

That will not have gone down well with the fishing communities.

There's already been threats of dumping rotting fish outside Parliament.

They know that they can do whatever they want, because all they have to do to win elections is point to some "other" to blame. Our electorate will just lap it up.

He was utterly hopeless, It'll be another muppet to toe the no divisive indyref line and be amazed when they don't win a single seat.

You've always been able to opt out, no? The only reason to get rid of it is to force people to work longer.
