Their fans have in an unsurprisingly hypocritical effort to cancel Koppaberg.

Carling is shit. These racist unwoke people need to get some taste. Plenty of good English beer.

Can't help feeling that the whole pressuring companies to boycott GBN* is exactly what those who love to rant about cancel culture are expecting 'the woke/the left' to do. This will only help the channel in the long run as it will give it content and allow it to play the victim. Should just let it do it's thing and it will either die due to being as dull as dishwasher or have to start creating controversy and end up going the route of Katie Hopkins etc.

*Especially before the channel has actually done anything to even warrant a complaint yet.

Im guilty of it myself. The mrs was watching it out of professional curiosity this morning and I acted like I had walked in on her watching porn which she was, justifiably, annoyed with.

They do make a reasonable stab at being respectably newsy for the morning segment I saw, IDS seemed surprised that his bullshit wasnt allowed to go compeltely unchallenged but it is still objectively total shit.

Its got the look and feel of an internal company 'news' promo and I cant see that changing without a lot of investment. They have fucked the fundamentals and it doesnt help that people like Kirsty Gallagher are absolutely dreadful for something like this.

    @RichDC

It's made its intentions pretty clear so I don't really see the problem with trying to starve it of cash ASAP.

Just allowing these voices on TV gives them legitimacy, we've already seen with Brexit the damage that can do.

    Just look at this:

GB News has already been trying to appeal to the lockdown sceptics.

I broadly agree it would be best to just let it die quietly, but didn't Dan Wooton or whatever he's called chip in with some Covid conspiracy nonsense at some point?

Not watched any as I really cant be arsed

The fuss people are making about this seems counter-productive, it's just going to get them more eyeballs.

Yeah. Just ignore it. Like when Nick Griffin went on QT - got eyeballs because people just constantly called him racist but left on his own the whole thing quietly folded. Same with EDL too.

There's always these pockets of people, usually because of things being unfair/ pretend unfair. Just let it die on its own. It's really not going to get the same traction as BBC or Sky. Or even ITV/ Channel 4.

It's a difficult one, and I don't know what the answer is. I'm fairly certain however, that the answer is not 'give them exactly what they want.' :(

Yeah, that same tactic worked wonders for UKIP.

Should be extremely damaging and be a catalyst for reforming the met but people will shrug and say "what else is new?"

That's standard for a launch though. People are curious to see what it's going to be like. They should check the viewing figures a week from now.

Theyíll do what the likes of talk radio did and others do (see Piers Morganís career). Viewing figures low/dropping off so get a few more cunts on and presenting to attract the social media outrage and viewers to follow. LBC did the same.

It might be trickier with tv than radio but itíll get there.

I mean, pound shops get huge queues on opening days too. Its whether they can keep up decent figures in the long term is what matters.

OFCOM is their enemy when it comes to attracting new cuntish talent and they're painfully aware of that.

Can't say I've watched it but if it's as po-faced as it appears from the images I've seen they are going to struggle. You need to wrap it up in fluffy packaging like the This Morning bits where they have a Katie Hopkins type in spouting off for it to take. A bit like not sharing actual Britain First messages but a meme passive aggressively conveying the same thing, being casually offensive rather than directly makes you right "telling it how it is". That and it just looks plain fucking dull.

Except the government looking for the likes of Paul Dacre to run that, suddenly they wonít have that problem.
