I think she is largely a morally bankrupt opportunist who would be espousing communism if the far-left paid well enough.
Not that it matters either way, the results the same. -

Registered 6 years agoOnce you see Katie Hopkins through the lense of a grifter playing people both for and against, she's quite entertaining. When she tried to break America she started adopting religion in her rhetoric. -

Registered 16 years agoOne of my friends gets so wound up over her, outrage sharing all her content and articles. She doesn’t give a fuck, it’s all eyes to her.
Mind you, the volume has been significantly less recently so either the ‘just ignore her ffs’ message is sinking in or she’s much less visible. -

Registered 16 years agoThat’s the crazy thing. How fucked up is Australia that not only did they think she would be a good guest but someone in government signed off on her skipping the queue to get into the country? -

Registered 12 years agoWhile I can't say I'm particularly au fait on Australian Big Brother, I'm going to go out on a limb and say she was probably brought in to be the kooky fish out of water foreign one who's there to basically be laughed at for the first couple of days. -

Registered 6 years agoYeah, its pretty grim. For a few years now there’s been talk about some unis being on the edge financially and could go under or be forced to merge with a bigger one. Between the pandemic damaging international recruitment and this it really could happen now.
Williamson said that they will reinvest the saving into STEM courses but I don’t see it happening. Not to a level that fully compensates unis losing arts funding.
Plus the idea of reallocating funding ignores the idea that most universities specialise in particular areas so the cuts will be very unevenly distributed. -

Registered 7 years agoI wouldn’t mind those cuts so much if they shifted the funding to early years and added to that, still shouldn’t be done though. They’ve gone for the easy targets the right wing press always moan about. -

Its going to be a straight cut or a tiny redistribution to institutions who don’t need the money

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2021/jul/21/tory-mps-suspended-for-trying-to-influence-judge-in-elphicke-case
MPs tried to pervert the course of justice. On HMG notepaper. No criminal charges. A beyond pointless 1 day job suspension for 3 and the other 2 merely urged to apologise. And the seat vacated by the convicted criminal is picked up by his wife, who is one of those who wrote to the judges.
Anyone else - major scandal, resignations, by elections. Tories - fucking, fucking, fucking scum
