    Couldn't find an existing thread, honestly.

    Anyway, reviews drop in an hour. Expecting a "flawed masterpiece".

    Yep, definitely getting this, but I will be playing crackdown first, then will move on, but I do still need to revisit last light after never finishing that before due to binning it due to moving to l360 to PS4.

    Bought it in the xmas sales on xbl, so good to go again and enjoy dem shinies on one x.

    Think the old Metro 2033 thread was bumped with a bit of chatter a while ago, but yeah, surprisingly quiet. I had ordered it a while ago, didn't realise it was so close releasing (thought it was end of Feb). Decent review on the front page now, seems more of the same in expanded areas and better crafting-on-the-fly (saw a video with it in action) so yeah, that's my weekend sorted.

    Just need to see what 'technical issues' there are, mentioned in a few reviews, and how loud my poor struggling PS4 will get.

    Tried to play 2033 a few times but it just never grabbed me.

    Probably wonít bother with this, especially not at the moment, just started ACO and got either Anthem or Division 2 incoming.

    Looks decent (though the EG frontpage review is wanky bollocks), but suspect I won't be picking it up any time soon. Too many January releases and games from the Steam Christmas sale to work through first.

    Still not played the others. I see the redux bundle for pc is £6.50 on the Razer Store. Might grab them.

    Yeah, they're pretty good and totally worth picking up at that price.

    Yeah and I didn't want to sound all pacrifice with that comment. Already bought and downloading :)

    They are both good, apart from the shooting. The newest one is the better game to play in terms of that though.

    I've had the originals on steam for years but don't recall playing them. They look suitably scatty for my tastes.

    They are a little dated now but still worth a play, Story based first persons are few and far between and the atmosphere is excellent.

    @Frogofdoom

    To be honest I prefer more older shooters then recent efforts.

    Hehe. Seriously though Last Light is a great game, very atmospheric.

    I loved the other two games mostly based on atmosphere alone. Not many big games can match them imo. Anyway probably will pick this up when it comes down in price in a few months.

    Apparently Exodus is the most graphically intensive pc game ever made. On the extreme setting in DX12 with all nvidia specific technologies turned off, gtx 1080 averages 40 fps @ 1080p.

    Hopefully DX11 will be a bit quicker.

    Apparently ultra is a lot quicker (58fps), not sure what the visual difference is.

    I'll be happy enough with ultra I reckon.

    @challenge_hanukkah

    Thanks for that, those results seem a lot more palatable.

    I have my key from cdkeys.com, redeemed on the Epic Store... no pre-load of course. Epic doesn't support fancy-Dan stuff like that.

    In fact, there isn't even anything to suggest I own the game. I have to go to the store page for Metro, and scroll down to where it says I own the basic edition.

    I'm working tomorrow anyway, so I'll let it download ready for when I get back. Those screenshots look amazing, starting to get a proper Stalker vibe from this.

    4K seems doable on my card. It typically gets between 5-8fps more than the fucking awful FE edition these sites use when vomiting out their charts. If the frame rate stays north of 40 it should be ok, that's the cutoff point where things start going to shit on this freesync monitor apparently.
  • Deleted user 14 February 2019 11:42:27
    I'll nearly get 60fps on my laptop on 1080p ultra so jobs a good un.

    I had zero idea this was in the offing. Sack the PR department.
    Loved the other games, this is a must buy, just probably not for £50.

    @mothercruncher

    If you're on pc then I recommend cdkeys.com, otherwise Shopto and various other places have it cheaper.
