I have followed Rock Paper Shotgun for a number of years. I had enjoyed their flippant, fun take. I don't mind mixing a little politics with my gaming, but lately, however, they have taken to publishing numerous juvenile, Brietbart level screeds written to instigate anger and hatred. I have too many real problems in my life, and no need for a gaming site to manufacture fake ones for me. Can anyone recommend a gaming site that is similar to what Rock Paper Shotgun was before it was bequeathed to the current unpleasant crop of wannabes? |

His last comment was 2 months ago. Either the penny dropped that nobody can see his post, or else the police finally caught up with him while he was still chewing on one of the bodies.

Edit: His posts are here, for the morbidly curious.
Edit2: Oh, hey, he did a farewell post back in December 2018:
Hey EG people. This is SpaceMonkey77 and I've frequented this website for many years to chill and talk about games. of late of the last few months, my Eurogamer account has been duplicated against my will and others instead pretending to be me, artificially. pretty soon I plan to move abroad, for employ of a rather interesting creative nature, so I'll not be frequenting here for some time. Once I've written this post, it may likely be blocked out of the EG site from going live. Time of writing is December 7th. Strange wifi jamming activity & switching of net line has been going on for months-years. My forum posts have been blocked for 2-3 years sadly while some are throwing stones & messing with my life. Not cool. Don't hack/crack/spoof for ill.

Registered 8 years agoRemember to bet responsibly within limited means, people. Most fun, personally won on bets. 90 pounds on a three game winner, and 100 pounds on a 'how many goals scored in a match' England match, ticket. Additionally won some from Liverpool UCL final in Istanbul, years back. Woot! Fun times. I guess I don't bet as much on football games now, due to my interest in the stock market, which frankly always brings better returns, long term and repeatedly so.

Registered 8 years ago. Very nice. However, as a person without access to no money at the moment, to live the basics and joys in life, let alone no say it what happens to mine, due to the movements of others, I'm at a loss for words. As a creative person, I also hope to one day build great projects, with reasoned and creative control over them, while getting paid.
There will be many projects upcoming for streaming services. Many will do well in short or long term. I know of some I can't speak of, and many jobs will be created. While I think this project will likely do well, its clear the results won't bare fruit for a while. There is a silver lining mind. As some older industries in the U.K close and fold, new ones will arise, much like this one, and overall that's a good thing. If the U.K wants a stake in the future, it must seek to invest a lasting piece of where things are going. Had I access to my own money, I might put some into projects like this JD one, but sadly I don't have access to mine money, so ahead I will be moving abroad elsewhere and building elsewhere with greater control and will over what I create ahead. Good luck!
It certainly is good to work and get paid for your work, well, isn't it? The better perks of adulthood. Peace! -
