His feelings on the Ouya are personal to himself and you guys should stop trying to pry.

I was on a train from Euston to Coventry on Saturday trying to make a measly SD stream work either on 4G or the free train "wifi" so i could watch some football.

Utter waste of time. The infrastructure in this country doesn't allow for things like this to unleash their true potential - being able to play full games wherever you like - in the same way as the Switch does

Probably, play it better before all the chavs get on and bring the streaming to its knees. Not exactly a glowing recommendation and probably some half truths there.

The tech drives better infrastructure, not the other way round.

Tech is already ahead of infrastructure and not doing much to drag it along. This wont be any different.

Yeah, we've had an age to improve our infrastructure but we've always sacked it off. Don't forget BT Sport exists because they said it wouldn't be cost effective to improve Internet access in the countryside so used that money to make a sports channel.

Yeah, I don't see the infrastructure massively improving for something that is going to catch a small percentage of people.

Maybe it will get enough people on board in the cities for Google to persevere and go on to a second 'generation' of the tech in 5-6-7 years when it's going to be more attainable for more people, but it certainly isn't going to be a PS5/Xbox Two killer.

I know for a fact based on where I live, the internet speeds I get and the experience I have streaming and downloading content at present that Stadia isn't going to be fit for purpose for me on launch, and it will likely be years before it is based on the rate the infrastructure in my area is moving along.

    Your connection is great.
Based on your current download speed of 162.345 Mbps, we expect that you’ll have a high-performance gaming experience on Stadia. Go back to the Google Store.

Obviously I wasn’t suggesting this specific piece of tech is going to singlehandedly revolutionise all internet infrastructure...

New tech sets new benchmarks for all the other tech. I would be absolutely astonished if the next gen of consoles weren’t all somewhat influenced by the Stadia, not to mention the slew of other 4K, 8K etc streaming services, and everything else that’s coming.

One way or the other infrastructure will catch up, whether it’s the broadband services, the mobile services, the government taking it into their own hands, Elon Musk putting something on Mars or whatever. It’ll happen 1000% and quickly.

I only get 220 Mbps but get 700 or more on speediest.

Believe me, nothing with this country's network infrastructure is happening quickly. Mobile broadband maybe, but the huge data costs from mobile providers aren't going anywhere any time soon.

‘Quick’ and ‘huge’ are relative terms, but 5G coverage will be 80% of the country this year and costs will become packaged up once everyone has the phones to match. Vodafone 5G already costs the same as 4G.

I was pretty excited about 5G until I saw this video MKBHD put up yesterday.
Basically they will have to put antennae on every street corner, the higher frequency signals can't go through walls or even trees.

    @Fake_Blood

Similar to Wifi i guess where 2.4ghz has a longer range than the 5ghz signals but lower throughput.

I'd settle just for a working connection on my daily travel route.

4G should be enough for the 30 mbps stadia needs, I think the bigger issue is going to be the ping.

Google Stadia release date set for November 19

Google Stadia is set to be released on November 19, Google has announced.

The release date for Google's game-streaming service was confirmed during the Made by Google event – where we expect to hear about the Pixel 4.

This release date is for those who pre-ordered the Stadia Founder's Edition. Other editions will be sent out from this date in the order in which they were bought, with customers receiving an activation code when their package has been shipped that will allow you to set up your Stadia account.
