Registered 20 years agoI'd have loved to be able to tour the building and explore it during its prime. Hustle and bustle in the canteens, strange experimentations going in the various labs and just soak up the atmosphere. Loved the brutalist aesthetic, mix all that with a hot sixties-era typing pool and well, that would be nice. -

Admittedly I was well levelled up and had completed the story by the time I took it on, but I found the Anchor to be a complete walkover. Took it down first try and barely broke a sweat.
The Anchor is a cunt
It was Former (the fridge one) that gave me the most trouble, mainly due to it knocking big holes in the floor that I kept falling down. -

The Anchor took me four tries though I attempted it earlier, the fridge was five or six attempts as like you, I kept falling through the bloody floor more times than quaddy does in a souls game.

Registered 10 months agoI thought I was well-levelled - two high-level mods on most guns - but I may need to get some more Energy and Health for this one. I keep panicking and launching clocks at Hiss troops. -
The anchor was a pain in the arse for me. In theory it's simple but it's usually the hiss that overwhelm me, or I'd lose track of which what the anchor was facing.
I'd basically put all the upgrades into the sniper type weapon which wasn't that great in that situation.
Did try cheesing it using the upgraded launch to collect 3 red clocks, but it only registered one hit, so that was a waste.
The fridge I found okay, just had to get used to hovering carefully. -

I did not like the anchor. Mold-1 was also a pain, but i got there more easily than the anchor.

I had less issue with mold. My sniper gun (I forget what is actually called) had some very nice headshot modifiers, and the molds tentacle things counted as head shots. -

Registered 20 years agoI think I must have spent a lot longer than most just travelling around, hunting collectibles and shooting tons of respawning hiss as I was pretty well levelled up and I breezed through the anchor and mold-1 wasn't too bad either.
Still, the last part of the DLC had me on my knees. -

Onto the DLC now. -

Registered 15 years agoCompleted the main game a few days ago too, and last night finished the Foundation expansion. Like G0at says above this post, I also loved the Ashtray Maze area, such an awesome concept. Plus in the 'light switch' Motel area there was a pretty funny video of Darling doing an 80s inspired music video.
I'm one regular trophy away from popping the Platinum trophy for the main game as well, namely the one to complete 25 board countermeasures and I've done 9 already, so I will do that then onto the final AWE expansion! -
The Ashtray Maze is genuinely my favourite gaming moment since the end of Inside. Nothing else has given me quite so much joy. -

Registered 10 months agoIt's nice feeling slightly over-powered and as though the environment is bending to your will. The soundtrack - while not my cup of tea ordinarily - rules. -

Registered 15 years agoHad a go on the Gamepass version on the Series X, was good but was making me feel a bit queasy with the low fps, the enhanced X/S version (you need to pay for) not have this issue I guess? -

Registered 14 years ago@gamecat You have 30fps Ray Trace-o-vision or 60fps performance mode on Series X. I still want for 30fps for the gfx but can see what you mean about about the fps. I git used to it after a while but you may find the 60fps more palatable. -

Registered 13 years agoThe one available on GP is the Xbox One version though I believe, not the enhanced ultimate edition for current gen with RT etc. -

Registered 15 years agoYea last gen on gamepass, you don't get any fps options. Might stump up for the ultimate version if it has 60fps mode though, only £15 on cdkeys. -

So two games coming set in the Control universe, one a 4 player co-op multiplayer game and the other big budget Control game. Interesting to see what they do . -

Hope the 4-player co-op isn't just a hiss-flavoured L4D rip off, since with Back4Blood might be the start of another run of similar games. I'd be up for some co-op adventure with more puzzle-based stuff, maybe Institute staff investigations in a prequel to Control type deal.
