@wuntyate if you haven't yet invest in shield and the slam when you are airborne. The slam mixed with shotgun is very powerful and later on the shield is a must if you want to avoid raging.

@Bichii I've maybe put about 3 points into shield so far. I find it really useful when I need to run out and start hoovering up health pick ups in the heat of battle. I'm debating on if it's worth unlocking the ability that causes it to send debris out to damage enemies.

The most I am using is definitely launch however. It absolutely destroys enemy shields and pretty much OHKs most goons.

Answer is definitely yes. Upgrade that shield and smash them in the face with it.

I didn't really use shield at all. Flying around flinging desks at people though, yes absolutely.

I didnt use the shield once outside of the tutorial. I put everything into health and regen through pickups so I could just tank everything.

I mean, Im not an expert but I put everything into health and throw on the skill tree at first and then a few branches. It looked like spreading upgrade points thinly was kind of pointless when you could go big on smashing someone in the face with a photocopier.

It actually goes back to what we were talking about with GoW yesterday. Some of the skills come far too late in the game and well after you have developed a gameplay style. Posession was fun, but I had to force myself to use it and there was no way I was taking an upgrade in it over throw.

I put a fair bit into shield, it definitely has itís uses but it depends on your playstyle. You donít really need it if youíre keeping distance between yourself and the hiss, if youíre charging in all the time then it can help to get you out of trouble.

Think that's part of the reason I'm not sure about upgrading it further. Apart from the odd run to grab health I'm not using it. I'm doing a lot of ducking and weaving around cover and just throwing shit everywhere. Same with sieze. I'll use it now and again but my playstyle is definitely staying mobile and lobbing the contents of an office at some red faced prick.

For example I killed that Salvador guy this morning and he never stood a chance. I used spin to mow down the goons and every time the big man came into view I lobbed some masonry at him and destroyed his shield.

Oh yeah possession, I used that a fair bit. Always find that fun when they put that in games.

They always make the person you posess absolutely pathetic to balance the game, though, which is always annoying.

I find sieze is brilliant with the flying explody guys. Size one of them and watch as he flys into the rest making them all go pop.

That's probably all I use it for though.

Anchor and Former bosses done this morning. Former was a bit tricky but Anchor was a pushover. Due in no small part to the Former fight giving me enough ability points to get the launch upgrade that lets me grab and throw up to 3 items. It's devastating. Either lob all three at a tough enemy and annihilate him, or target up to three mobs and take them out. It recharges your energy whilst you hold stuff on top of that. Regular encounters are over in seconds.

Given your backlog, by the time you actually get to it I'd imagine it'll be off GamePass anyways.

It's not the Ultimate Edition on Game Pass though is it? So if you want to play the shiny Series X version you still need to buy it.

This is kind of hard, isn't it? Not much the story, but the bureau alert sidequests. Don't think I will bother with them again. I have so much stuff lined up for December anyway, might as well just go throguh the story.

Yeah you're a bit of a glass cannon, I'd upgraded my health to max by the end of the game and could still easily get wrecked if I wasn't careful.

The alerts are hard, yeah. Don't think they got the balance for those quite right. The bigger side missions are well worth doing though, some of the best content in them.

Its got a bit of a steeper curve than a lot of games but if you concentrate on health and regen early on, it does make it a lot easier and flattens the difficulty right out.

Ouch, just got an "OutOfVideoMemory" error message and the game force closed. I get the feeling Remedy pushed the base Xbox One way too hard with this game.

At least the Series S doesn't give me any of the hitches or framerate drops shown in the DF video.

Is that the timed missions that appear? Done a couple of them. Thought they were fine tbh.

Finished up the Langston Runaways side quest last night. That was great. Chasing a rubber duck around a top secret government building was something I never thought I would do in a game. Gave me another Former fight that was over in seconds as it didn't take too kindly to me launching a shit ton of rubble at it.

Not to jinx anything but I'm really not finding this particularly difficult at all and I'm shit at games. It just seems that my cowardly playstyle works well here.

The alerts really range in difficulty - some of them are a cakewalk, and others are boss-encounter hard. I found them best in the very late game and post ending, where I was nicely upgraded. :)

The only really hard part of the game is the tower climb at the end and that was mainly because the game threw so many enemies at you the PS4 version was reduced to an almost unplayable, single figure framerate.

God, I'm (probably?) around halfway through the game, just beat Salvador and now I'm heading back to executive sector to speak with Dylan... and in the last two hours I've got three crashes. Not sure if the back compat is bad, or if the game is worse than Cyberpunk on base console.

    Credits rolling.

    That was absolutely fucking brilliant.

I fully upgraded my shield and never used it. Launch combined with the basic pistol loaded with damage boosts annihilated everything.

Oustanding game. I reckon it's up there as one of the best I've played. Just loved the shit out of it.

Looks like I've got the DLC to do and some side missions.

Edit: actually no more sides. Just had a rematch with Tomassi so think they're all done. Not sure to have a break before the DLCs or not.
