    Ha- it's official

I'll have another look at the trailer later, but first impressions are it looks like more, prettier, same Borderlands formula and I'm perfectly ok with that.

Depressing that games have evolved since the last Borderlands thatíll probably have more grindy loot, and micro transactions.

Quite enjoyed that. Looks like they are going Destiny though? Seemed to be a heavy emphasis on squad play and vaults. That said, I never played the second so I don't know if it was like that anyway?

If memory serves, the first one had good co-op but it was basically traditional rather than going raiding etc.

Well the original games were essentially the blueprints for Destiny and every looter shooter since, but they didn't have any shared world bullshit going on other than co-op.

I don't see a hint of them taking B3 fully online here though.

There was a raid type thing at the end of BL2, but that was it. Nice to see some favourites back, including more grown up Tina.

Raids did appear in the second game and where brutally hard unless using the age old strategy of cheesing bosses or using hacked loot.

That said there is just one question I have from Broderlands 2 DLC that never got answered, maybe it will in this...will we finally be able to BLOW UP THE OCEAN?

    @M83J01P97

True - I think Borderlands actually fits the Destiny model quite well.

I'd be surprised if it went fully online, but repeated shots of 4 characters running towards the camera hints at heavy online co-op I reckon.

There was online co-op in Borderlands 2 and pre-sequel also? I'm not seeing any hint of shared world MMO style, but I guess plenty could change between now and release.

Randy made a joke of it categorically not being "a battle royale game" at the start of the panel but I guess there's still scope for them to add it as a mode

They seemed to be heavily suggesting we will be getting four pre-designed playable characters again which wouldn't work if they take this online.

You'd be running around a hub with several identical versions of your 'Maya' around you.

Hopefully it's an offline campaign with enhanced co-op features.

@Tomo As I recall they've done the same thing with all the trailers and videos for all the previous titles in the series so it's not exactly indicative of where things are going with Borderlands 3.

Is it again going to be about "the vault"? Not that I mind, just thought they could "refresh" the story a bit.

What I took from it was that they're trying to stay close to BL2. This looks curiously similar to Maya's Phaselock too. Although I think there were rumours that vault hunters have more than one action skill now.

I thought the teaser was better, this didnít have a lot to say for itself, literally there was no voiceover or direction in general.

Love the first two games, this does look very, very similar though. Not sure if that is a great thing or not. I will defo keep an eye on it.

I noticed that too, like the exact same visuals. Obviously the art direction is very specific but it looked too similar.

co-op is the core of BL2. Haven't played co-op in BL1 or TPS but I bet they're very similar. This trailer looked like just the same to me.

    BL1 had co-op too.

I'd peg the franchise as SP games with optional co-op but with the latter offering a better overall experience. I.e. you don't have to play co-op but there's definitely an incentive to do so.

For real. If you slapped a Borderlands 2 DLC sticker on this I wouldn't know any better.
Yeah. No. Even on PC fully maxed out BL2 didnít look as good as that trailer. Iím very much ready for more of Borderlands. A rare day one, even if itís shit, because thatís just how I roll. :)

I absolutely loved the first two borderlands games but given the direction of the games industry i am holding back on the excitement till I know more details. If they do go the whole stuff it with "micro" transactions live service bullshit route they can get in the fucking sea. It's also looking just a bit too similar though I'll reserve judgment on that again till I know more.
