A rare day one, even if it’s shit, because that’s just how I roll..gif)

I think most new games I've bought in recent years had preorder bonuses. ME:Andromeda did, Dirt Rally 2.0 did. BL2 had a preorder bonus too (Mechromancer DLC for free), I'm certain BL3 will as well. -

Don't know, I found the difference so tiny that graphics-wise it looked like a BL2 remaster to me. A jump similar to Skyrim Special Edition vs. Skyrim original.
Yeah. No. Even on PC fully maxed out BL2 didn’t look as good as that trailer. -

I'm sure I won't care about those issues when actually playing the game, but they stick out in a video. -

Registered 16 years agoI'm up for this. Borderlands 2 is the second most played title in my Steam library. Didn't like the Pre-Sequel, but this looks like more of a good thing. -

Skyrim SE still had the wanky low poly models. If you look closely the models in BL3 are a substantial jump ahead. Depth of field, draw distance, shader complexity.... it all looks pretty swanky IMO. Whatevs though. You fuckers can shit on it all you want but you won’t diminish my ardour!!!

Registered 9 years agoThe guys on the most recent Giant Bombcast were going on about how disappointed they are in the Borderlands 3 reveal trailer and hope there's more character customisation and armour loot to bring it "up to speed" with modern loot shooters like Destiny. God I hope not. Give me more prettier Borderlands with emphasis on the guns- I could not care less what my character looks like, or whether I can equip unique legendary shoulder pads or whatever. -

Registered 16 years ago@hedben2013 Yes, couldn't agree more. As per the frontpage article today, a big chunk of the Borderlands games' appeal came from their relative simplicity compared to modern games-as-a-service looter-shooters.
Plus, I do love the fact that they are actually 30-ish hour story campaigns (albeit with high replay value), rather than an attempt to milk out the same 6-hour gameplay loop unto infinity via grinding mechanics. -

Registered 10 years agoWatch the Borderlands 2 and 3 trailers back to back and you'll see a noticeable graphical upgrade between the two of them. Way more detail in the design and animations, fewer jaggies and a smoother frame rate in 3. -

Same. I honestly don't know why anyone cares that much about what their character looks like in a FPS considering you won't actually see them most of the time.

Besides, if it's anything like the second game there will be quite a few character customisation options anyway, ideally not ones that charge microtransactions for "shaders". -
Someone from IGN also wrote that BL3 should have all that fancy modern stuff, including a battle royale mode of course.
In other news, I realised that I'll have to preorder it or else I won't get no golden weapon skins. -

Important clarification- if the unique legendary shoulder pads have red flavour text and berate me for poor marksmanship in a heavy New York accent, maybe I could get on board with that

Holy crap, I've just remembered BL2 was the last game I preordered. Had a regular crew from BL and it was a foregone conclusion we'd play it. Will probably wait for reviews this time

Gearbox has added weapon manufacturer info to their game info site. There are some changes, one new manufacturer ("COV"?) and Atlas from BL1 has a comeback.
Jakobs: ricocheting bullets
Maliwan: toggle between 2 elements, charge shots
Tediore: pursue enemies after thrown
Torgue: alternative fire mode: sticky explosives
Dahl: alternate fire modes
Vladof: attach attachments like tasers, rockets or more gun barrels
Hyperion: weapon-mounted shields when aiming down the scope
COV: look like laser/beam weapons, infinite ammo but overheating
Atlas: hit enemy with tracker tags, then fire homing shots at them -

Registered 9 years agoI like the sound of ricocheting bullets but I hope they don't get rid of the crit boost on Jakobs sniper rifles. My Zer0 loved poppin' heads with those
Edit- should have checked the link, the full text for Jakobs says the critical hits are still there

Randy Pitchford confirmed that there won't be slag in BL3, thank the maker.
There is no slag - we replaced it with something that actually makes a little sense. The new “element” damage type, which is like a nuclear radiation effect, has a similar effect to slag (increased vulnerability by those affected) and also has a damage-over-time component.

Also, cryo weapons confirmed.
edit: I also get a weird bug with that link, I get a blank screen but if I just click on the address bar and press enter, it works.

It does like nice, being played by streamers reminds me how easily annoyed I get by the playstyle of some streamers who either look at a menu for half an hour or move the screen around like an impatient 5yr old.
