Why the fuck is this terror mechanic still going?! It was pretty neat to begin with but now on the Endgame where so many enemies melt there are tons of stupid skulls flying around all the time.

Really stupid by gearbox there. And all because they obviously haven't come up with enough post game content.
Actually they can make you more powerful in the endgame if you use the anointments right and just let the skulls hit you. You actually want a lot of skulls then. The event works pretty well that way, I think it's well crafted. The big issue is of course that you can't turn it off if you don't like it.

It'll be up until 5 Dec btw.

@DrStrangelove I liked the event, but it has run for far too long. Should have been 2-3 weeks max. Either that, or give people a toggle to turn it off. It's not like it takes all that long to farm up the legendaries from it.

Yeah I'm with you, I can't wait to return to normal. Mostly pointing out that it's not per se bad for the endgame.

They made the event too grindy I think, if you have it run for 2 weeks like the OW Halloween one, people would cry they didn't have time to complete it, but 6 weeks is just too long to force this on people. You can play offline and they disappear, along with any hotfixes, so it's a bit of a tradeoff.

I've been running around cistern of slaughter because I seemed to get loads more good loot drops that way. The shitty thing about it is the badass rakks that arrive at the end of some of the waves. They take a fucking age to kill :-(

Is it just me, or does endgame Moze only need two weapons - Lyuda and Shredifier? Everything else seems redundant once you have those.

    Depends on the build?

Trying a deathless one with flakker/ ogre/ lump, seems pretty good.

My Moze has the bottomless mags build that mixes a load of gun-damage bonuses with almost limitless ammunition. I did a Mayhem 2 run of Heck yesterday using Lyuda only, without a single reload.

Yeah I also played Bottomless Mags with only gun+shield skills (ignoring Iron Bear and grenades). Actually you don't really need anything but the Lyuda (and before I had one, I hardly used anything but a blue/purple Dahl sniper). I used a few other guns anyway, but mostly to mix it up a little so it wouldn't get all too boring.

Maliwan Takedown is coming tomorrow, and with it a major patch:

    - Bank space limit raised to 300
    - legendaries assigned to specific bosses now for easier farming (like BL2)
    - inventory/UI performance improved
    - Mayhem 4 is harder but has no negative modifiers. It will give one random bonus to players and one random bonus to enemies. It will also have exclusive legendaries.
    - vending machines added in some places

The first campaign DLC is coming Dec 19 and brings back Hyperion.

This all sounds good, Gearbox has hinted bank space will be eridium bought, so don't spent it all on junk just yet.

My level 50s have shitloads of Eridium - thousands each. Product of Graveward farming. Increase in bank capacity is sorely needed. Each character tends to favour different weapons at 50 (though some like the Lyuda are cross-cutting). Plus Gearbox's irritating habit of balance patching makes me nervous about throwing away even poor legendaries, in case they get improved by the next patch.

Can't even throw away my low-level oranges, because we all know at least 1 and possibly 2 DLC characters will be coming down the line.

They have said no DLC characters are incoming, people didn't play them much apparently. A shame as a DLC character (Gaige )was my most played in BL2

@gamecat Hadn't noticed that, but it's a pity. I loved both of the DLC characters. They felt better realised, in gameplay terms, than the original four. The DLC characters had more interesting builds available and more meaningful interactions between skills from their different trees. The personalities were also more amusingly "out there" than the slightly vanilla original picks.

Wouldn't be surprised if nobody touched the DLC characters in TPS, though. That game had very little replay value, given how shit and tedious its early zones were.

Probably a good idea not to continue with this x3 price increase for every SDU. According to my calculator, the last SDU would cost 1.57 x 10^30, which would perhaps be a little much.

I've stopped bothering with that as you don't really need them. Like in BL2, Guardian bonuses make a big difference, and on top of that you get the Guardian rewards which I frankly think are a little overpowered. Some of them are as powerful as capstone skills.

Patch notes: Update goes live sometime between now and 1am UK.

    https://borderlands.com/en-US/news/2019-11-21-borderlands-3-patch-hotfixes-nov-21/

Edit: mine updating too now, a bit slow like.

In other news bank SDUs cost cash money & there is a target dummy again.

The massive patch is a cockup, cancel your download and restart. Proper size is 2.7gb.

Yeah, cancel it and restart Epic. Apparently the 42GB one installs the Mac version. People who already downloaded it can't launch the game anymore. Another fine example of Epic knowing what they're doing I guess

Ok, now the Guardian rewards aren't working anymore. Sniper rifle crit bonus isn't working anymore. What are they doing?

Done a successful Blacksite run, with one friend and two randos. No mayhem enabled.

Not easy, to be honest. Last boss took us a while to figure out - some very specific patterns to learn. Once we figured him, he went down quite fast. Probably not going to be too hard to farm, until you start to ramp up the Mayhem.

@Rogueywon can it be solo'd or does it require groups ?

@crashVoodoo Group. Tried a 2 player run with my friend and we got squished (albeit Mayhem 1). Could probably brute force it eventually, but it's pretty fast via matchmaking.

Just gave it a solo try with Moze (normal/no mayhem obv), made it to the boss but died after killing half of its shield. Might try again with elemental Amara, but I won't play the game again until they fix the Guardian ranks

@DrStrangelove "Passive" Guardian stuff is working, but the unlocked abilities aren't. That's a pretty big fuckup and they need to fix it fast.
