    The intro to the new Ori is quite beautiful, and a grand example of fine story telling. Although the first game was the same, and I ended up abandoning it in frustration. Will try this one in easy mode and see how I get on.

    Hasnt been too hard for the first 7 hours or so (until the dark bit). Its absolutely stunning though, amazing visuals and music, the gameplay has been excellent too and a big improvement on the first which I also loved.

    Spoke too soon, the darkness boss was a bastard.

    @Frogofdoom

    Think I'm en route to that boss now. Dark area was tricky.

    @its-H1ggyLTD pretty sure changing styles is via dpad during combat.

    @AddyB_ yeah it was, a lot easier with the new ability though. None of the stuff I have done after that has been nearly as difficult though.

    Ace Combat 7 and The Surge 2 this month. AC7 is decent and The Surge 2 is an excellent and much-underappreciated Soulslike.

    Got about 30 mins left of ori I think, its been bloody brilliant. Anyone that likes metroidvania games should be playing this.

    I've been wanting to try Ace Combat, so that's happy news.

    Never tried Ace Combat before, I guess AC7 could be interesting to try. Console only though, and I seem to remember from DF that the Xbox version runs at 720p and nowhere near 60fps. Oh well.

    Yes on Surge 2, no on AC7.

    @Blackmarsh63 It's great. I know the PS4 version apparently has some problems, but on PC it has some of the most responsive (and satisfying) combat around. Plus the area design is amazing.

    Loving ori but sure I've played the game in a weird order that's made it much tougher. Now got to what seems to be the end but not got all the wisp things I was supposed to collect to proceed so back tracking to an easier area I think I should have done earlier...

    I think I did dark, ice, sand and then finished the water one (which I had already started but hit a roadblock). I did find the end roadblock before going back to water but it was necessary in the grand scheme to get an ability.

    Gahhh. Just tried Ori 2 on PC XGP and it's a horrible buggy mess. Buzzing sounds intermittently and massive frame drops whenever I use the Kuro Feather. I endured the prologue, but I'll put it on hold till they fix it. How it could be released like that is utterly beyond me. Sounds like the devs are on it though judging by recent update on the website.

    Also: the XGP software on PC is fucking awful. I know it's a beta version, but it makes the EGS look good.

    @Tomo if you have an ssd, delete the game and put it on there as it fixes the sound issue. I had the same thing and they said that it's a temporary workaround but it works.

    This also worked for me, sound wise, although I still get some framerate hitching when moving between certain areas.

    I've done around 40% of the pc version and not noticed any issues.

    I'm just gunna wait till they patch it. I loved the first one and the opening proglogue for this one made me want to really savour it. Can't be dealing with some half assed version.

    There is a boss that is a bit harder later on that I came across, but that one is a bastard for sure.

    @Frogofdoom

    I know how to beat it. I'm just being impatient as fuck in its 2nd phase. Might just go to the other areas first.
