I'm not really feeling Ori so far. But I'm still only just got the energy blade. Maybe it will get better once I leave the starting areas. |

Registered 9 years agoHah I do that as well Addy, get too greedy and get fucking hammered for it which in turn makes me even more impatient next go.
You havent even got to the game yet really Mal. -
@Frogofdoom
Hehe. Tis an awesome game though. Loved every part of it so far. Feels just right difficulty wise, great power ups, just the right amount of backtracking. Looks lovely. -

Registered 16 years agoI stopped feeling Ori at the giant worm escape. I'm obviously somewhere near the end of the game, but I really can't be arsed anymore. It's a shame because I was loving every minute of it until then. -

Registered 9 years agoThat escape was a bit too long, they did a good job of shortening the others to a more manageable length. And yeah you probably have a couple of hours to go. -

Registered 14 years agoOri has finally clicked. It was a matter of investing in the triple jump and finding the swing and grapple. Navigation is much more satisfying now. Also, the game is pretty generous with its invincibility times. You can get a lot of items early if you are willing to take some damage.
I don't think I'll be bothering with 100% though. Those spirit trials look outright painful. -

Registered 6 years agoRe Ori, Ignored the spirit trials but otherwise 100%, all it took was a bit of exploration. Basically finished the story then played for 15mins more to get several achievements.
Always a fan of games where you do the story and you are pretty much done. Some games take the piss, particularly open world games.
Now onto Plague Tale for the game pass quest. Also a really good idea as isn't a game really heard of if wasn't for the quest prompting me.

Registered 14 years agoBy the way, I went and tried it on the big TV as well. Shame there's no HDR support for the PC version yet.
What surprised me is that the game looks pretty good on almost all resolutions. Maybe 720p is a bit blurry, but from 900p and upwards it always looks nice. Of course 4K is quite the treat, but my card can't really handle it.
The motion blur has been implemented horribly, good thing it can be disabled.

Registered 13 years agoWhat's the cheapest way to get Game Pass Ultimate? -
I’ve been holding off buying control since I heard it supposed to be coming to game pass. No sign of it yet so will probably just buy it -

Registered 17 years ago@MrFlay the way people have been doing it is buying up cheap standard Gold subs and registering a couple of years worth. Then using the "Try a Month of Game Pass Ultimate for £1" which magically converts the existing sub to GP Ultimate as well. I think that works up to three years, but I did two.
I'm just not sure if that offer is still on, so maybe do a bit of googling. Fingers crossed. -

Registered 11 years agoThe join for £1 offer is listed on Xbox.com, if I cancelled my monthly ultimate sub, bought a £12 month live pass off cdkeys and the hit the £1 offer, that’d work wouldn’t it?
Wouldn’t normally be arsed but, well, with the current situation any value to be grabbed isn’t to be sniffed at.

Registered 14 years ago@Fourwisemen it should work. But even if you cancelled now, your sub would last until the end of its monthly duration. These offers usually last a while, so I think you can wait... but if you want to be sure, you could always hit the MS support and ask them to completely cancel your subscription immediately. Of course, you'd lose all of the remaining time that you had already paid for. -

Registered 16 years agoThe £1 offer is only for first-time subscribers. It'll jump to £10.99 when you get to the purchase selection -

Registered 11 years ago@8bitMofo Thanks. What’s the situ on stacking gold subs now then, i.e. buying a 12 month gold and redeeming on top of current ultimate sub? -

Registered 17 years agoI believe that hints like Gold subs are now worth some fraction of the number of months of Ultimate. You can still redeem them, b it they won’t be worth as many months as it says on the tin. -

Registered 14 years ago@Phattso Gold subscriptions are still worth their full time if you aren't already an Ultimate subscriber.
I know because I've tried in January, after my 6 months Ultimate subscription had elapsed. Stacked 24 months of Gold and 3 months of Game Pass, and then got myself a month of Ultimate. Worked a charm. I'm subscribed until June 2022 now.

Registered 13 years agoEnjoying Ori, but have been stuck at Korok for bloody ages. On normal difficulty. It’s a shame, because I reckon I’m close to packing it in instead of persevering further. If I could turn it down to easy without restarting the game, I certainly would. Still, a beautiful game that anyone better than me at games - most people - will no doubt enjoy to completion. -

Registered 9 years agoIs it the water bit you are struggling with. If so use the bow to hit him. When he goes into the water to swallow you dash away just before he swallows you each time and it damages him as well. It was so much easier when I started shooting from distance, I even got the achievement for killing him in under 2 mins. -

Registered 17 years ago@Malek86 aye, understood. I was answering a question specifically about stacking after Ultimate was started though. -
It defo still works for new subs as I did it with my sons new 1X yesterday. What a bargain, machine was only £260 with the Jedi game too. Have been stealing goes on FH4, great game. I think Xbox are much better at this monthly model atm. -

See, I’ve tried this, but the bow always runs out, then I have to go and smash the rock for extra energy orbs...rinse, repeat until I die. I saw a video with someone having upgraded the bow to fire three arrows, but no idea where or how to do that. I’ll give it another shot with the bow. Cheers for the suggestion.

@ryan_isthisit
This was the boss I died most on. Once I realised I could swim dash out of the water to hit him with the sword, I spammed him with that and had a lot more success.
Until then I was thinking I had to reflect the torpedos at him which was giving me little success.
