I've cancelled my sub. Bought the year with the Quidco cashback and I've only watched The Simpsons, Mando and Jeff Goldblum. Might watch Home Alone in the run up to Christmas. |

Registered 16 years agoAny chance of Disney doing a de-specialised 4k or 8k original trilogy? I know I've asked this before and the possibility is very low, but, I want to believe. -

Registered 12 years ago@Malek86 they need 52 episodes to drip feed throughout a year to make sure you keep your sub.
To help with that they will probably have a few weeks gap between marvel or star wars series so that you don't stop the sub and they can spread the series out a little bit.
Probably a lot of crossover in people who watch both so it may go marvel, gap, starwars, gap, marvel etc etc
I 'think' some of the series are only 6 episodes long so they need about 8-9 a year. -

Registered 16 years agoNow that Mando is finished for now, I suppose WandaVision is the next big thing in January. Disney have announced that She-Hulk is going to be a half-hour legal comedy. That’s...different. I’m guessing the original character was a lawyer in the comics. -

Jennifer Walters is a lawyer, yeah. She gets shot by a mobster and gets a blood transfusion from Bruce banner, her cousin, which kicks off her superhero career. -

Registered 8 years agoThe She Hulk comic, under John Byrne’s stewardship did a lot of comedy as well. The things that made Deadpool so popular, like breaking the fourth wall, were part of her comics before the Merc with the mouth. But it may seem like a pale imitation for those not familiar with her comics. -

Registered 14 years agoAh, good, this bump has reminded me to cancel my yearly subscription.
Got it originally just for The Simpsons on the £50 intro deal, but I haven't used it much at all. Mainly because there is no Disney+ app on Virgin Media's box or my smartTV. It's strange. Even though I can access via the Xbox, I just don't do media on it at all. It's like the physical vs. digital media thing. I've become that lazy that I must have all my subs on the one remote. -

Won't be long before it goes though. All timed. I think Seinfeld is supposed to move from Prime to Netflix at some point.

Registered 19 years agoIs Star basically a Fox channel? It's almost like they don't want to be associated with the Fox brand for some reason...
Took me less than a month to watch the only things my household gave a shit about on Disney+ (Mandalorian, Mulan and Soul) and it was great value for those over Christmas. Might get it again next year for the next series of Mando.
Generally nice product, but the content isn't there for me.

Registered 18 years agoI am struggling with Mandalorian S2 tbh. I liked the first series a lot – found it a tonic to the bloated films. This isn't worse than the first series, it's just so formulaic now after 15 episodes or whatever.
How to write an episode in 5 steps:
1) Land on planet
2) Enter bar, get mission
3) Journey to base (optional: comrade/supporting character)
4) Do mission (obligatory: blaster fight), return to bar
5) Fly into space -
