Things will be added as contracts run out on other services, itíll also help them keep subscribers as thereíll be a constant stream of things being added.

When itís a series of films it is a bit annoying when the middle or later ones are all thatís there, like the new planet of the apes films only has the second of the three.

I've pretty much written off Disney+ as a streaming service for kids and families, which is fine.

I may subscribe again for Mando, not really arsed about Fett.

They can have my custom, but they'd have to offer me something equivalent to Netflix, with at least one original show or film every month that's aimed at adults.

There is a new series on Disney+ called Europe From Above.
It's a NG series of course and is absolutely engrossing so far. Beautiful photography and interesting facts. Starts off with The Netherlands and some lovely windmill action.

Even the kids are sitting engrossed.

In order to get our money's worth before the new SW stuff comes out, we'be been watching the SW films in order, don't think we've ever done that.

Has anyone ever explained why Darth Vader and Obi Wan got so shit at light saber fighting in the 20 years between their fights? Space arthritis? Fear of breaking bones?

    Maybe lack of practice?

    @DaM:
Originally the actors were instructed to treat the lightsabers as very heavy objects. They were supposed to fight much more like knights wielding zweihanders...

Then when the prequel trilogy came along Lucas retconned that and said we'd never seen anyone duel properly because we'd only seen a geriatric, a half robot and a trainee...

    Have this as a cure:

The boring answer is the swords they used in the first one were very fragile and broke all the time so they couldn't get too crazy with them. Also, geriatric actor(s).

It's a weapon where one wrong move is at least going to cost you a limb, making characters jump around and do flashy moves reduces how powerful it seems.

Vadar has some serious sabre skills at the end of Rogue One, so it goes to pot in much less than 20yrs.

@simpleexplodingmaybe Ditto. (have to say though, as a *cough* 40+ *cough* year old Dad, I have been known to watch a fair few of these with my kid. It's very funny.)

Big fan of it featuring all the sighs and side-eyes from the parents as the kids drag them into another humiliating game

The light saver battles in the prequels are as weightless as the plot. Much prefer the empire / return ones.

    [

Bit of a an assumption that this will be on Disney+sooner rather than later (given the trailer says it'll hit cinemas in May), but I wouldn't be surprised.

Either way I'm pleasantly surprised, it actually looks decent.

Somewhat, but give them slight credit for going with an origin story rather than yet another remake, shirley?

It's not like there aren't new original films coming out too - Raya is next month.
They're slowly remaking all the animated classics in "live action" (Lion King is still animated, obviously), and they have these character origins chugging along slowly too.

And there's stuff like Flora & Ulysses as kind of entertaining fillers between the known stuff.
