Things will be added as contracts run out on other services, it’ll also help them keep subscribers as there’ll be a constant stream of things being added. When it’s a series of films it is a bit annoying when the middle or later ones are all that’s there, like the new planet of the apes films only has the second of the three. |

Registered 11 years agoI've pretty much written off Disney+ as a streaming service for kids and families, which is fine.
I may subscribe again for Mando, not really arsed about Fett.
They can have my custom, but they'd have to offer me something equivalent to Netflix, with at least one original show or film every month that's aimed at adults. -

It's a NG series of course and is absolutely engrossing so far. Beautiful photography and interesting facts. Starts off with The Netherlands and some lovely windmill action.
Even the kids are sitting engrossed. -

Has anyone ever explained why Darth Vader and Obi Wan got so shit at light saber fighting in the 20 years between their fights? Space arthritis? Fear of breaking bones?
Maybe lack of practice? -

Originally the actors were instructed to treat the lightsabers as very heavy objects. They were supposed to fight much more like knights wielding zweihanders...
Then when the prequel trilogy came along Lucas retconned that and said we'd never seen anyone duel properly because we'd only seen a geriatric, a half robot and a trainee...

The boring answer is the swords they used in the first one were very fragile and broke all the time so they couldn't get too crazy with them. Also, geriatric actor(s).

Bit of a an assumption that this will be on Disney+sooner rather than later (given the trailer says it'll hit cinemas in May), but I wouldn't be surprised.
Either way I'm pleasantly surprised, it actually looks decent. -

Registered 18 years agoSomewhat, but give them slight credit for going with an origin story rather than yet another remake, shirley? -
It's not like there aren't new original films coming out too - Raya is next month.
They're slowly remaking all the animated classics in "live action" (Lion King is still animated, obviously), and they have these character origins chugging along slowly too.
And there's stuff like Flora & Ulysses as kind of entertaining fillers between the known stuff.
