I just noticed the Spiderman 90s cartoon gone. Started watching it the other day as comfort telly due to illness and it's apparently gone everywhere.

At least Netflix tell you when stuff is going.

Because they keep finding new ways to make their service surprisingly naff.

Literally all I've watched on it is Simpsons series 1-8 and Mandalorian. My gf splits the cost with 4 people. No way it's worth 10 a month.

A service that doesnt have shows or films you want to watch probably isnt worth 10 a month, no.

Of the two we still pay for its definitely the more likely to be dropped. Got it for the kid but I think my recent Marvel binge (and Free Solo) is all its been used for since about Christmas

Probably something to do with that Sony deal the other day? Think it was Netflix that Sony have a deal with for their shows before they end up on Disney.

This is the thing though, I know loads of adults who have it. The people my gf is sharing it with are all childless. Scores of people have it for their Marvel and Star Wars, without even thinking of kids. Disney really doubled down on nerd culture.

Can't say I've watched much on it other than Mando/Marvel and Soul, but the kids are always finding some random shit to watch. There's been a few new films that they've really enjoyed.

I've started watching black-ish and we're all enjoying it. It's no modern family but enjoyable all the same.

Disney, Marvel and Stars Wars service caters to Disney, Marvel and Star Wars fans. Who would have thunk it?

If there's one service that you know is/isn't for you before you've dropped a penny, this is the one.

Can we all agree that Star is catering to nobody right now?

Every time I browse it just looks like all the network tv nonsense that ends up alongside Columbo reruns on 5US and the lesser ITV and Pick TV channels

The majority of the forum are those fans. It's not catering to them or me with it's level.of output.

I've no desire to rewatch Marvel or SW films I've seen several times especially when they're readily available elsewhere for free.

If the long term model is to drip feed original Marvel and SW content with big gaps between shows people will drop the sub and simply watch HD rips.

I and I suspect many others have used repeated free subscriptions. Now those are up I can't see me paying for the service.

If you don't want to rewatch Disney, Marvel and Star Wars content then you wouldn't sub, no. If you do want that stuff all readily available then you will.
As I said in the half the post you left out: "If there's one service that you know is/isn't for you before you've dropped a penny, this is the one."

I'm not aware of any other services that have this stuff readily available for free. If there was, D+ wouldn't exist.

I'd be all over that. I was thinking earlier about TV that we used to watch growing up. We watched a lot of it because there was nothing else on but unearthed some classics that we might not have watched otherwise. With streaming services, I doubt the kids of today will experience the same thing. Just struck me as a bit sad.

I find it really difficult to discover stuff now that we stream so much. Every algorithm is designed to push you into a corner. The recommends can work sometimes like Im currently going through a phase of watching adventure sports documentaries but normally its a huge case of diminishing returns.

Like hey you watched some all time classic sci-fi movies and shows, why not watch some new stuff that even the SyFy Channel wouldnt touch?
