Yes for some reason they're staggering the release. I almost imagine so you don't use the trial and rinse it one sitting then cancel.

Just watched Episode 7, miles better. Glad I stuck with it!

You didn't like Ep 6? I liked that one. The casting was suitably weird and a good example of how to re-use a single set...

I stopped after episode 5 and 6 were boring, pointless shite that went nowhere.
Watched the first episode of The Mandalorian and enjoyed it. Some ropey effects considering the budget but that 30 mins alone was better than many of the SW movies.
I'll force myself through the last 2 and hope it picks up again.

Registered 19 years ago@Decks yeah - what the hell were they thinking? It's like going round to see my Dads new TV and finding it in store mode with motionflow cranked to the max.
If I wanted zoom to fit then a lot of TVs have that option. -

Registered 19 years ago@RGeefe Well, Netflix do that with Better Call Saul. Sure, it is 'simultaneous' release with US but I guess that will be same for Mando S2. -

Registered 14 years agoI think Jambo's right - it's to stop British viewers consuming their most popular show in the free trial period, or at least to lure them in to subscribe to see the rest. -

Registered 5 years agoRather than having it in its original 4:3 aspect they've zoomed it in so ita wide-screen, cutting off huge amounts of the upper and lower picture and making it look utterly shit. -

Registered 7 years agoJust seconding the Jeff Goldblum recommendation from the last page. His show is hugely watchable. He is off the wall in a good way. You could tell that the people he was interviewing (mainly the Adidas rep and the shoe designer) didn’t quite know how to react around him. -

Registered 13 years agoThe Simpsons is in the wrong aspect ratio for two thirds of the total episodes available. This ruins a lot of visual jokes as content has been cropped at the top and bottom of the screen. Disney has said they will fix this but it's been 5 months so far and no change. -

Yep 100% saw exactly what you're referring to. B7 here.
Anyone noticed the brightness changing mid scene on The Mandalorian? Like it's flicking between gamma settings or something. -

Registered 13 years agoThe only thing Disney+ does better than Netflix et al is extras. They have documentaries, deleted scenes and audio commentaries.
Other than that it's pretty mediocre. I might wait until they fix the Simpsons, release the Mandalorian and turn 4K back on until I subscribe. -

Similar to prime when you pause it and it says the quality on the display bar? -

Appletv picture is much better than the native Samsung implementation which is to be expected -

My older LG OLED (C6) only gets normal 4K HDR over HDMI, not Dolby Vision (I.e. from my XB1X). However, the TV app displays the various movies/series in their full Dolby Vision glory. Still in Dolby Vision 4K for me this evening.

Exactly the same experience as you. First episode noted the flickering colour in the sky. Looked like dynamic range, but it was switched off in the settings. Second episode didn't appear to show any issues.
Just watched the second episode and it didn't do it. I'm guessing an issue with the Dolby Vision on the first episode. -
