Quite possibly, but this *reeks* of hubris. Come on, over a decade to make a sequel, with the plan to release one every other year for the rest of your career? Cameron's talented, but he's really gone all in on this one. That's a ballsy move.

He wants his ďStar Wars legacyĒ set of films. Heís still producing others. Alita Battle Angel was visually maw-dropping. See what happens with Terminator: Dark Fate.

The film was shit. Take the 3D out if it and all the nice expensive CGI and what are you left with? Nowt.

As I've already said if it's your first ever blockbuster I could let you off. But you can literally see half a dozen better stories in any cinema at any time.

It was derivative rubbish. Just like star wars is now, to get back on topic. Cameron is a great director but if he thinks people will be queuing up for avatar 5 in a few years time he's off his tits.

I think he's only filming two of them so see how people react to them. Disney being Disney want MWOAR.

Getting back on topic, has anyone mentioned who Vaderís father is? The Marvel comics recently revealed who it was. I will spoiler it in case you do not know and by subsequent theory on what the tag line may refer to.

In a recent Darth Vader comic he has a vision of Palpatine manipulating Schmiís womb with the force to impregnate her. This makes him Vaderís Pops and Lukeís Grandad.

In the Star Wars tradition of Han having the surname of Solo because whatever, Sheev Skywalker is now the Emperorís full name. He took the mother of his childís surname as it will annoy the twats that complain Star Wars cannot have strong female characters or there is something a bit too lefty about a story that began with a yerrorist group trying to overthrow the legitimate government by any means necessary.

Be warned and may the force be with you.

    Midichlorians are an STD.

That's why you never see any cocks, balls or minge in the films.

The first part of that was always the case since TPM wasn't it? Shmi noted there was no father. Was heavily implied to be due to force manipulation.

Was heavily implied to be immaculate conception, nothing to do with any one involved.

It also doesn't really make him the "father" any more than a doctor that inseminates is. And until that's put in a movie/show it's easy to ignore regardless.

having no father is one thing, being force raped (sort of) is another.

Well, after finding this out it would seem 'The Rise of Skywalker' is a bit of a misnomer.

Utterly ludicrous. But even more evidence to show that, despite being set in a galaxy with multiple planets, creatures and races, the Star Wars creatives can only focus on the same characters from the original trilogy over and over again.

In stories about those characters it kind of makes sense. There's a reason it's known as the Skywalker saga.

There are stories about other characters, but the focus seems to be on adding and enriching the details of the characters we know. More are coming though.

No one wants other stuff. They barely want extended universe shit, hence the Solo flop

@elstoof Rogue One did very well - but I guess that was only kind of extended universe (you could argue it was Star Wars 3.5).

I remember some people asking for a Star Wars film without the Skywalker's/Jedi - couldn't believe it, can't imagine a more boring concept.

The only good bit in it was when the ex Jedi turned up at the end and did force stuff.

Nothing wrong with creating new Star Wars stories featuring Jedis, but do they all have to be Skywalkers? Again, the Jedi are supposed to be numerous, who come from various backgrounds, why can't we explore that?

And why does everyone suddenly have to be a blood relation to someone else without knowing? I know 'Luke, I am your father' was a great moment in the series, but if you make it the defacto plot twist, it become generic and lazy.
