    BURN THE XBOT
It doesn't need to be a big line though. Put everything in folders. My PS4 is about four folders across. Store, what's new, (both which you have to have then My games, kids games, other shit.

No mention of quick resume is interesting. Given how fast the PS5 SSD is, you’d think it would make sense. But then I guess the storage is also more limited so to reserve some for quick resume wouldn’t leave much else.
The fast forward to the other game suggests it is not a feature on the PS5.

I'd probably say the UI on my favourite brand is the best while the UI on other brands are quite inferior.

I hate the One’s UI but I do also dislike the line of apps thing.

    I miss the blades.

Switch is my favourite but I do not like how it stops the game you are playing when you enter the eShop which is something the PS5 claims not to do.

So, a dumbass question for you guys.

Can I just get any old external hdd to play my usual P4 games from on a PS5 or, are their drive specifics my thick-assed brain doesn't comprehend?

    Lots of asses.

Yes I believe any old external USB HDD will work for your PS4 library.

Unless you mean something different, you can have a game running and still go to the eShop though?

    Depends on the game.

Hmm I've not come across any game that does that tbh. Aside from online games that disconnect you when you go to the home menu.

I am sure RCT3 did it to me a few days ago but it kept running when I just tried it.

I am probably just going crazy.

The line of apps may at least make more sense on the PS5 depending on exactly how the suspend/resume feature works.

I didn't see any folders. Hopefully they haven't forgotten...

I have a vague memory of getting the PS4 version of Black Flag quite a while before I got the PS4. Well it seemed like quite while; It was probably the day before or something stupid...

This was my take on it.

    That DF title, hyperbole much.

Fucking hell, it's a UI ffs. It feels like the dormant fanboy in me has been stirred by a load of waffle about some fucking menus. Ugh.

See also: reviews of mobile phones talking about displays having 25% more pixels compared to last year, when you already needed an electron microscopy to actually see them anyway.
I agree with you two. On the one hand, it looks loud and busy, but on the other, the actual design elements look clean and elegant. I'm not sure whether I love or hate it, much like the design of the console itself. But I probably lean more towards the former because at the end of the day, I'm pretty superficial, and aesthetics matter. Game changer though? DF is sounding a lot like buzzfeed right about now.

Also, I agree with whomever said they prefer the Switch's simple UI. That's my favourite as well.

Having watched the State of Play video - I'm pretty impressed.

The new UI is a strong evolution of that from the PS3 and PS4 - but hopefully cleaner and less cluttered. The Cards and Activities thing could be a real game changer (pun intended). I guess we'll have to wait and see how developers integrate it into their games and how well it'll work on RPGs etc

I'm less bothered about the social media and party/chat stuff, but it all looks like Sony have really thought about everything.

The game icon (second icon at the 2 minute mark) is called ‘switcher’, it’s not been mentioned at all by Sony so could be waiting for another reveal later on, also the DF video says Sony confirmed that Destruction All Stars was loading from a cold state which implies there are other states.

@richtayls Well it’ll have quick resume for a single game at the very least, even the PS4 has that. So they could be saying it was started from cold rather than booting up from rest mode.

I’d be surprised if they have more than one quick resume, I just feel they’d have mentioned it. But they’re clearly holding things back still, presumably because things aren’t quite what they want them to be in the OS just yet. I reckon the UI will be quite different with features 6 months from launch.

Just caught up with Cyberpunk night city wire and the state of play.

Really impressed with the UI functionality and design aspects! Bring on next month so I can ignore my shiny new PS5 and dive in on cyberpunk...

Didn't realise how just good shopto are for PSN credit... £50 voucher for just under £43 which has covered my SM:MM preorder (plus it's the PS4 version so I can game share it with a PS4 owning mate)

Just grabbed TloU2 for £34ish too. Think that's me sorted for launch week now.

What are the launch games you are most looking forward to and why?

I need an injection of hype as I had been massively looking forward to Cyberpunk. However, I've now read the PS5 version will basically be the same as the PS4 with no upgrade patch for months/years which is making me question whether it's better to wait. Is there really not even going an FPS & resolution boost?

I'm struggling to find anything else in the launch line up to get excited about. I've got major third-person action game 'fatigue' from the current-gen and AC, Godfall and Spiderman all seem high res versions of games I've already played.

Yep, I paid £42 for 2077 pre order when it is £55 straight from the store.

Ahh, is it the Cyberpunk upgrade merry go round again?
