Why? Why not just get whichever one is better? They'll both do BC I'm guessing.

I couldn't give a flying fuck about any ps3 games now. If I can play my ps4 games during the early days when there isnt much to play then that's great. Especially if it means being able to play things like God of war at a locked 60 fps. The ps5 wont be doing 4k 60 fps on anything meaningful though.

Because a lot of my favourite games have been Sony exclusives this gen. So "better" is the one with the better games on.

Does the ps5 come with a motion controller and you can't sell your games?

Are they franchises though, or could it just as easily be the other way round next time? Genuine question.

Literally zero interest in playing PS3, 2 etc games. Has anyone gone back and done so?
I have- I tried recently to play through the original Red Dead on PS3 prior to II launching and it was a 21fps jaggy horrowshow, absolutely archaic. It won’t be long before I feel the same about PS4 titles too, but they’ll tide me over until the next gen is established.

As for the Share button. I’ve pressed it approximately 4 times this entire generation and each time just couldn’t be bothered to sign into YouTube etc to upload it for 7 people to watch. I suspect tetchy middle aged men weren’t its intended market though perhaps.

Not sure it could be "easily" the other way around given how poor a job they've did with exclusives this gen, but yes if the better games were on Xbox the next time that would be the "something pretty amazing" I stipulated in my my first post.

Fair enough. I reckon if (like last time) one is cheaper and yet more powerful, I'll just get that one.

I really struggle to see how Xbox can recapture that 2007 fire again, when their exclusives were at the peak of their powers. They've lived off that for a long time. It would take a serious fuck up from Sony for me to give the other one a second look now. They'll both be comparable in grunt as usual so that doesn't sway things one way or another for me.

Are exclusives really that much of a thing? Pretty much everything is multiplat these days.

I'd say there are quite a few excellent PS4 exclusives.

They’re only a thing in PS4 and Switch.

    HEYOOOOO!

That said if I had to choose just one exclusive franchise it would probably still be Halo.

That's all I've had for most of it. But I can only think of Bloodborne that I would have been disappointed to miss out on. That said I haven't thought very hard about it, just musing really.

God of War, Unchartered, Spider-Man all recentish ones that spring to mind. I’m sure others will post more.

God of War was ok. Last Of Us was a PS3 game. Spider-Man looks middling.

Like I said, the PS4 was definitely the 'right' choice of main console this time, but I'm not sure that exclusives were much of a factor in that. For me at least.
