I do find it ridiculous that it has moves that essentially look like you've killed them but they get up and dust themselves off. That Shao Khan fatality though...

Jax is my current fav, I think. There’s something about the animations and sound effects with his heated arms, especially the 3 punches down to the back of the opponents head.

All the characters look dope now though, the art direction is on point.

I agree, for me the lighting is a standout it looks photo real in a stylised way. I suppose the cartoonish nature of the fatalities no doubt sidesteps that issue of having detailed fidelity coupled with killing people. No kid is going to even attempt to try and copy Shao Khan's fatality.

Love the way his arms heat up the more they are used which opens up some other moves. Trying not to look at too much before it's out next week but your heated arms comment set my mind wandering.

so... apparently the switch version is going to be released 2 weeks after the xbox and ps4 versions.

I imagine it's probably because they want people to focus on the full fat version and then release the switch version which may run a bit poo while everyone's preoccupied.

There is a trailer out now which does an amazing job of hiding non cutscenes on a tiny screen.

I’ve been watching all the Kombat Kast gameplay breakdowns on YT over the last week. I’m not big in to fighters - the last MK I played was 2 - but this one has captured me a bit.

I'm figuring a lot of online retailers will have shipped this today due to the bank holidays or it wont arrive until Wednesday for a lot of people. So all going well it should turn up Saturday morning.

Yup, physical release is being delayed for two weeks, I think. Not sure why, but I’ll be getting it digital anyway.

I can imagine it being like the vita version of MK9. That looked like ass but it played well. I guess if you want some portable mk then it's the only option.
