I've been working my way through the story only so far. Which is as good as you have come to expect it to be. The stuff in the link above sounds a bit shitty though. They need to understand that people dont give a shit about a million unlockables and just keep it to the fun stuff like fatalities, taunts and clothes. Crystal's and the sort of shit is just padding where it's not needed. -

Registered 16 years agoIt's got to the point where you just expect anything outside the main story to be a pain in the arse. The krypt has always been bullshit.
Speaking of which.... what are people getting this on? I was going to go PC but remembered it's a WB game and MKX was a garbage fire. -

Registered 6 years agoI thought the krypt stuff was pretty good in 9. Awful in 10 though. -

Just read an article. Yep does sound like it was a mess on pc, at least at launch. I think I bought it in a steam sale long after it had been released, and as I previously said, I didn't play it a great deal on pc. -

Fucking hell that sounds like a nightmare. I don't think I'll have time for this game.

Registered 16 years agoPick a thing and it was broken. It ran like shit, online didn't work and it crashed all the time. I think it was ported by the same clowns who did Arkham Knight.
It was, apparently, eventually rescued by a mega-patch but by then I had given up. -
@nickthegun
Oh well hopefully this one doesn't have such issues. It's literally my only option now since I recently gifted my Xbox to one of the kids, and I ain't buying the 16bit switch version. -

Registered 8 years agoI think I got the last game on PC at launch and other than the online being a broken pile of shash didn't have any problems with performance or crashes. -

Registered 16 years agoThat's the thing that's giving me pause for thought. I had injustice on the PS4 and vita and played it ten times more on the latter, despite the characters looking like they were out of clayfighters.
Although, that was in no small part due to hardly anyone buying it, meaning I had the ego wank of being top ten in the world rankings at one point. -

It chugged mostly in cutscenes and crashed on load most of the time.

The most annoying thing it did was, when you quit to desktop, it didn't kill the process properly, so it would still run in the background, lagging everything out until you force quitted it from task manager. It's also the reason why steam thinks I've played like 500 hours of it.

Mmm I bought another vita a couple of months back(A pikey modded one). I might have to give injustice a whirl. I wasn't aware it was on the vita. I did download MK9 again yesterday and it still plays great and to be honest visually it's not that bad once the fighting starts.

Registered 9 years agoStory done, last boss was a bit of a shit and took me 3 goes. I'm still in the phase of being a bit stunted with my play as I haven't adjusted back to Nrs fighting movement.
Story was great as expected though. It's like watching a marvel movie with the odd scrap thrown in and that's just what I want. On to the normal towers next. -

Registered 15 years agoSo interestingly, the dash blocking on here is similar to MVC3. FF+Block, F, Block, F, block lets you dash block super fast. Apparently Kotal has the fastest version of this.
As a consequence the game looks like the ministry of silly walks but be interesting to see used at a high level. -
I get confused whenever Riv starts with the fighting terminology.

Registered 15 years agoYup. But it'll allow you to rapidly close in whilst blocking. Seems pivotal for learning if you're not playing lame zoning. -

Registered 16 years agoYeah, I saw this the other day. I'm not a fan of mechanics like wave dashing, so having it as a possible counter to an annoying playstyle isnt great. -

Registered 15 years agoStill yet to play but eh, from what I've seen, it's still very NRS. You can do cheap shit and still get away with antifun strats.
Whatever. Its a side game. Though the leaked dlc looks interesting -
9/10 on IGN. -

Registered 17 years agoAll the reviews are unanimous that the game is better than its ever been but the Krypt and Towers are too grind-y. I'm assuming that something that NRS can tweak, if they choose.
I'm sorely tempted to make this my first fighter in probably 2 decades. -

Registered 12 years agoYeah, the hype is real. I’ve got it preloaded on Switch. Mainly for handheld, as I’m travelling—though I can dock it in the place I’ll be for the next 6 weeks, which is a bonus.
Really looking forward to it. Also very encouraging to hear the netcode being hugely lauded.
Last fighter I bought was SFV at launch, and that was after about a ten year hiatus from the genre. Really hoping I don’t get so badly burned this time lol -
