    Very much enjoying this still apart form the frame rate when out on my bike. It seems to tank at regular intervals. Is this normal and something to get used to? It does irritate me but could probably live with it if i have to.

    @wuntyate

    Oh boy, still enjoying this but the 3rd act(?) becoming a series of fetch quests is starting to irritate me a lot. I think mechanically they are not that different, but the framing is really not helping.

    @Raiftel
    I loved my time with the game BUT it is easily upto 10 hours too long. The ending and... is excellent though.

    I'm reading that the frame rate could be linked to a few things so I'm going to clear the cache, rebuild the database and stop keeping it on rest mode constantly. It's all I've been playing for a week and seemingly in games that lack proper optimisation they can suffer from memory leakage whatever the fuck that is.

    I'll try it anyway and see. It's not a massive biggie if not. Fucking hell I got used to blighttown quickly enough, but would be obvs better if it wasn't as pronounced.

    I'm going to have a first go at nest clearing tonight. Is there any merit to staying around to kill all the freakers or is setting things on fire and running away a valid tactic?

    @Chug666
    I can't rememberif it is better to attack during the day or night, I want to say day, as there should be less of them in the nest. I think I used to pick a few off and then molotov the remaining infected.

    @Chug666 Like a standard nest area? I just lob molotovs and run the fuck away.

    Daytime I think there's less out and about and more in the nests so it's easy enough to lob some fire in and leg it before they come out.

    @wuntyate I'm not noticing any major problems with frame rate so far, however, I did rebuild my database earlier in the year when my PS4 menu was freezing.

    It seemed to help apart from all the welcome notifications and game updates/dlc that decided to redownload themselves. Had to restore licenses too, as half my purchased items weren't showing up in my library afterwards.

    @Roddy100 I can understand the bad reviews for the first 4 or 5 hours of the game, but once you get to meet characters that aren't conspiracy nuts, slave drivers and whacky from blood poisoning, the game really gets good.

    Well that messing about clearly worked yesterday. Game runs alot smoother whilst on the bike. How odd.

    Still haven't summoned the courage to take on that little horde by the nero facility in cascade. Had to go pick some lavender near them all and just snuck around.

    Also upgraded my crossbow so it's pretty much a one hit kill now, which is nice.

    @wuntyate The water tower by the lake made that horde a breeze for me.
    I must be up to the same point as you. Just did the lavender picking in my last session.

    Glad your game is running more smoothly. Did you get any weirdness from rebuilding the database? Updates/dlc redownloading, etc.

    @Roddy100 oh I didn't see a watertower! Ill maybe go back and have a look. Be nice to try and take it out.

    To be honest but that I've noticed yet apart from a couple of apps updating themselves. All my games etc seem to be there.

    I'm particularly enjoying the 'hide in a bin' option when clearing nests or Nero sites- In case you've not tried it, I can confirm that if freakers climb on top of the bin and won't leave, jumping out of the bin sends them flying.

    @tadejpogacar It definitely made an improvement for me. I was getting an utter shit load of slow down, especially in the second region around Tuckers camp but get practically none now. I still get blips but nothing like it was and that's been a good couple of hours of gameplay since I did it.

    Can't stop playing this bloody game. So good.

    When am I meant to be taking hordes on? I just noticed there's 8 in the first area alone! I've only ever stumbled upon a couple by chance, and it's not like they are shown on the map. Should I still be ignoring them for now? I've just got to Iron Mikes camp at lost lake.

    Ignore them until you have unlocked some upgrades, I can't say too much! The first Horde I faced was so exhilarating. ;)

    Yeah i don't feel ready yet. I've already tried the couple of little ones i happened upon and got torn to shreds.

    Very impressed with this so far i have to admit.

    do you have the MWS? unlocked by getting tucker to trust level 2. itís pretty effective on hordes, when coupled with molotovs/explosives. think Iíve taken down about 8-10 now of varying sizes

    when you unlock proximity mines etc, taking down hordes becomes like a big game of mouse trap - setting up routes with traps and then trying to lure them down those paths

    That's about where I left it. I've done one horde but I was pretty well prepared for it and had a plan. The others I've stumbled upon have always had the jump on me and it's been chaos, quickly overwhelmed and had to make a quick escape on the bike.

    When I come back to it I'll probably focus on the story until I'm more tooled up, they're a bastard with shit guns.

    @tadejpogacar hmmm now i did buy a couple of guns from tuckers camp earlier. A better shotgun and an automatic something. Not tried the auto yet as I'm favouring crossbow and occasionally shotgun for when things go south. I realised i had trust at 2 and about 12000 credits to spend at that camp! So i bought a ton of weapons.

    I know where this one horde sleep as i actually found their cave first so i might go back for them.

    Is it best to do it in daylight so you can bomb them while they sleep?

    definitely easier in daytime - when you aggro them youíll typically have to run away a bit to get some space to start culling them. at nighttime youíre then likely to be set upon by the other random freakers who are out and about at that time

    also during the daytime they tend to rest up in caves so you can lob a bomb in first to get a head start
