id haven't done all the shooting/combat mechanics - they've provided support for Avalanche predominantly around these areas, teaching them how it's done. It's very much Avalanche building the game with oversight from id.

So does this mean doom eternal will run at 30fps on the base consoles? I doubt it somehow- so why Rage 2?

Doom isn’t likely to be an open world like this, is likely the answer.

I like Avalanche’s stuff, but fear they might just be going through the motions after Just Cause 4 and Generation Zero (which I was looking forward to, but put off by the reception). Maybe this can return some pizazz.

I’m looking forward to this, I think it’s going to turn out great.
Mind you I’ve seen nothing about the story so far, I do like my games to have one.

Doom Eternal ain't open world with vehicles. At least I hope it isn't.

Edit - plus Rage 2 is built on Apex engine, Doom is IdTech 5

Personally love mad Max and doom 2016 is perfection so I'm hopeful.

I wouldn't be too fussed; if I'd listened to the reviews for Days Gone I woulda missed out on the 25+ hours that I've already put in and thoroughly enjoyed.

I'd be a little more willing to give it a chance, if it weren't for JC4. Still not sure how that game got recommended on EG.

I think even average games these days are good. I mean like an average rated modern car is still going to do all the things you want of it very well. Barring the outliers like Fallout 76, which should never have been released in that state.

I’d still like there to be a worthwhile campaign holding it all together and I’m not sure we will get one that’s memorable. Sure the talking heads look great but it’s seems to know it’s baddy isn’t much more than random bad guy 1.0 although he looks a bit bionic.

It still looks like fun though and thats got to count for something.

@ChiefGB If the plot is similar to Master Max ill be happy enough, you could tell they hadnt invested as much in that area as in others but it was decent enough!
