So...you actually played anything on it yet man?
Just wanna try another couple of things and then I will give you my proper opinion.
    Cool man. Much appreciated.
OK I honestly don't think I've had long enough yet to give full impressions but I can give my first ones. As it's been said before the wireless side of things really makes the biggest difference. The fact that a lot of vr experiences are 15-30 mins things really helps when you can just put a headset on without all the faff of connecting it up to a PS. The graphics aren't any better but it's definitely clearer. The controllers are also far superior to the PS ones.

So I've only tried the first steps, demo of beat sabre and paintball on rec room. It's impressive stuff. Its not quite next generation vr but defo 1.5 with the no wires. Not sure its worth 400 yet but I will report back on that. The casting to chrome cast has been a bit hit a miss also. But looking forward to properly getting stuck in
Cool. Clearer rather than snazzier was all I was really after. Thanks for the info man.

Iíve ordered one off amazon and if it doesnít blow my balls off Iíll just return it.

You might get an update if you let it charge overnight. Thereís no way to force an update, it kind of decides on itís own when to do it. The later versions apparently are better at streaming to a chromecast. Current version is 11 I think.

Pretty sure that's only since the last update.

So how do I know if I've got the latest update or not.

Vader immortal is great. Even better for free.

I think theyíve taken the button away again in version 11, couldnít find it last time I checked.

The button only actually works if it's been 'rolled out' to you anyway - it's still up to Oculus when you get it.

Anyone else noticed they can make a 'roomscale' guardian that's smaller than 2x2m now?

I don't recall ever not being able to do that to be honest. It only ever warned me that it was lower than recommended.

My quest just broke, fan started making a grinding noise, contacted support and it sounds like Iíll have to RMA it. Has never been dropped and only had light use because I have other headsets.

ISS Simulator thing is pretty amazing. Was playing it in bed and nearly punched my fiancee whilst trying to stop floating around.

Is that the one with the accident? That was fairly terrifying and immersive. The implementation and movement was a wee bit clunky but overall quite memorable.

Dunno if there's an accident; didn't play for long.

Yeah, movement is clunky and quite woozy-inducing, but looks lovely and the little vids that pop up with info are interesting.

Email from Oculus this morning 'The Black Friday Deals Start Now'. Eagerly click the link and the only thing reduced is one bundle for £70.

    What a load of bollocks.

Are there quest ultrawings owners who can answer a question about controllers? Is it possible to fly using the analogue sticks and buttons as the flight stick, throttle and rudder rather than grabbing the virtual controls? Either with the bundled controllers or an xbox one (if it can be used)? Thanks.

@mashum I'm 90% sure that you can fly with the joysticks. I haven't played for a few months because I had to factory reset my headset and I lost my progress, but I'm almost certain I remember doing so.

However now that I think about it you will still need to adjust throttle and so on by grabbing, if that matters.

It was the first question from oculus support.
Then they wanted a video to record the noise, after that they decided it was indeed fucked, and they send me fedex shipping labels.

A day later I received my 10ft usb 3 cable from amazon so decided to test oculus link out, seems not bad at all. But after 10 minutes the fan made a really weird noise and then suddenly the noise was gone, and it was back to the gentle whirring it normally makes. So not sure if I should send it in now or not.

@ChrisOTR that is very helpful thanks so much. The throttle shouldnít be a problem as itís only used occasionally.

@Mashum No worries, I just hope my memory is correct. Still you can always refund it if I'm wrong I suppose, as long as you don't play it too much.

For those that need to use glasses, WidmoVR are doing 20% off this weekend. Really good product, would recommend for anyone short sighted.

    @Fake_Blood

Maybe something got in there and worked its way back out again? Try to stress test it, see if there are problems.

Iím loving my Quest, and the clarity over PSVR is fantastic.

    But.

The pain in my little cheeks and forehead after using it is making me sad. I tried the AMVR replacement facial interface and that was just cheaply made junk that didnít make any difference.

Any recommendations for replacement bits to make it more comfortable and less likely to mark my beautiful face up?
