Nice, I loved the first one. Might even be bored with Horizon 4 by then.

Looks like they've took the site down, said 19th September I think. Really like what Codemasters are doing with their handling (and engine noise) at the moment so will be looking forward to this.

I remember the handling in the first being really weird. It seemed to turn from the centre of the car. I loved it though, there was nothing like it for racing in a pack.

Hmm. Looks nice but I'm getting an odd sense of scale at the end there... like driving through a model - maybe just the lighting setup.

I don't think any of that is footage from the actual game.

Yeah none of that is gameplay footage.

Looking good. Is the handling fairly sim Olly? Full ffb wheel support and stuff?

    @Decks

Yes the engine sounds are fantastic in Dirt Rally really adds to the fun of it all.

I might pop Autosport in the Xbox tonight for a catch up 😀

Shall I be the first to ask for a PSVR version 👍

I love me a racer, but agree with this; it was like the car was on a gimbal and it fucked it badly imho.

It was pretty much the same model the used for all of the older Colin McRae rally games, which all had the car rotate on a central point. You got used to it in the end. But it was weird.

This is starting to look really quite swell. The fact its the same handling team as DR2 has got me pretty hyped for it.

Was quite keen on this, but after watching some previews over the weekend the handling looks like it's been ported straight from the original, centre pivot and all. That, plus the slightly paltry 12 tracks, has cooled me right off.

This article says there are 12 tracks in total and eight circuits in four cities, which adds up to 92 routes.

Iím not sure what that actually means in practice though.

Few places are saying the career mode is underwhelming by the looks of it. Think I'll wait until I see a few more opinions on how it is with a wheel before I buy it.

side from the single-player career modeís 100 or so events set across 22 locations, thereís online-only multiplayer and free play Ė where you can set up a one-off event Ė but thatís it. Codemasters promises over 90 more career events over the coming six months, at least for those who spring for the £74.99 Ultimate Edition or buy a season pass. For everyone else, thatís your lot.
Codemasters are getting really quite shitty with this stuff.

Yeah, its must be proving profitable though or they would be rethinking the strategy. Splits the community though in a track race where as in a rally game it's not such an annoyance.

I'm sure I read somewhere that all future tracks would be as free downloads for it. Cant seem to find it now though.

So tracks free to play online but not as career events? That's a bit better but still shitty.

    https://www.thesixthaxis.com/2019/07/10/grid-2019-8-surprising-things-choreographer-ai-nemesis-prestige-career/

All post-launch track DLC will be free
Grid will have DLC after launch, but Codemasters will be keeping the racing community together by making post-release DLC tracks free for all players. Additionally, if thereís new classes of racing vehicles added to the game, you will still be able to race despite not necessarily owning the DLC, thanks to loaner cars getting you into the category. Those wonít be slouches out on track, but if you do buy the DLC, youíll obviously have more cars to choose from and additional single player content.
So yeah, sounds like its just career events. And cars too I imagine.
