| Hrm, the combat is pretty tough at the moment. I probably just need more party members, but right now it doesn't feel like there's quite enough that I can do with my turn. I think I've gotten so used to Action Point systems that it's weird to go back to the regular move+action+bonus action stuff of D&D. |

Hmmm. I really enjoyed the DOS games to a point, but every combat encounter just took soooooo long I gave up in the end. RTWP just suits me a bit better these days.
@StarchildHypocrethes Turn-based similar to DOS. -

Anyway, shall I get this or not?
I never really got along with the original BG's, but I found Divinity OS loads of fun. -

Registered 13 years agoTwo more things: the voice acting + animations are pretty damn good (there's a a few janky bits with the animation but that seems like a early access thing)
Also, talk with animals is back! Though its a warlock invocation. -
Pit about 5/6 hours into this so I guess I am about 2 hours through the game and it gets a thumbs up from me. I tried divinity 2 recently and the constant feeling of being underpowered when it come to combat and talking put me off continuing pretty early on. The DND framework on this seems to. (So far) have removed a lot of hurdles and I am very much enjoying playing this. I have tried not to reroll conversations but have found myself doing so occasionally and there have been the occasional wipe, but unlike with divinity... I can replay a fight and see exactly how to do it differently.
£50 is a lot of money, but then I have decided to treat this as an experiment to see how I get on with early access games. -

Registered 8 years agoThe frame cap in game seems to be broken and added frame pacing issues for me.
I was going to wait for a patch, but limiting the FPS in Nvidia control panel, turning off vsync and the frame cap in game seems to have sorted it. -

Nice... it didn’t bother me too much so I just shrugged through it. It did mean I occasionally saw the dialogue choices before the question. -

Registered 16 years agoThey need to sort their patch system out. I get that they're trying to keep filesizes for patches small, but the amount of time and disk-churn needed for patches at the moment is unacceptable for an early access game with frequent patches. -
Difficulty is a bit all over the place 😐 just hit level 4 and have a group of level 5 enemies right in front of me -
Save scummed through the conversation and avoided the fight... now I just need to go back to the goblin camp and kill everyone I avoided last time, get inside and then I am pretty close to the end of the early area -
Spent the day on this... managed to get to the end of the early access portion 👍. This game remains tough and I died ALOT. I may wait a bit and then reroll, see if I can do better.
