What does the ability to play as any NPC mean? You can just take some random old lady and make her a hacker?
All npcs are playable as you recruit them into DeadSec and missions will be slightly different depending on who you play as. I'm not sure how that translates into things like the multitude of genders, faces, body types and voices they would have had to work on. It sounds ambitious so I'll wait and see.
Are they classed as NPC's if you get to play as them?

I quite like the look of this, despite having only played the first one (which bored me to tears and made me swear off Ubisoft games for a while), but...

The fucking voiceover on that is atrocious.

I got bored of WD1 and ignored WD2 completely but the new WD3 trailer has got me interested.

Are the campaign's self contained or should I give WD2 a chance ?

    Gameplay 1 minute in.

I'm not gonna play as teenager in skinny jeans again with 3d printed stun guns. I want it like the first, a proper silenced gun and hideouts where you infiltrate, go cover to cover and eliminate threats quietly.

@gooner77 Mostly self-contained but WD2 is worth a shot especially at current prices. It's still *very* much an Ubi open world but there's some neat ideas going on and it plays pretty damn well for the most part. Totally different vibe to 1 though, much more... well, San Francisco free spirit hacker type unsurprisingly.

This is also the second one. Once I got the silenced weapons I never looked at much else, and really loved some of the later hideouts. The drone lets you cheese them a little bit (or a LOT once upgraded), but you can just use it to scout if you prefer.

Just watched a bit more game play. I'm more impressed than I was. The world looks stunning, but I always like Ubi's art . One thing that still grates is the Voice work though, very poor.

As I put in the comments thread , Ubi should have hired the cast from The Getaway and Geataway 2, they are class. Don't think you would be allowed to have Charlie Jolson's "rallying speech" from the original game though...not PC doesn't cut it.

more impressed, excited and more than anything intrigued the more I read about this title.

I think the play as anyone thing is a brave and refreshing risk-take, that could still go very wrong.

Helps that I like the series as a whole and the moment to moment gameplay in it.

I'm surprised something as subversive as Watchdogs Legion would even be allowed in China.

I was interested in both 1 and 2, and was massively disappointed by both, but now they've got me intrigued again. I hope they get it right this time.

Yeah, this. Didn't the Chinese government also crack down on any violence in games recently too? I can't see how Watchdogs would be fit for that market in any way, shape or form.

Um...if you didn't like 1 or 2 why would you possibly entertain the idea of liking 3? What do 'they need to get right' in your opinion? I have a feeling you will be 'massively disappoiunted' with Legion whatever they do.
