Should we have a separate thread for friend codes?

Registered 10 years ago@Gregolution I played animal crossing over GameCube and one of the ds/3ds titles. For me the series is nice but not much more than that, it was very much a game about coming back each day to go foraging/hunt butterflies etc. As others have said it’s a game about paying off a mortgage and let’s face it many work all day to manage that. Not come home and do it all again in a game.
It’s all a bit bland for me from a gameplay point of view, but for reference my wife enjoys it a bit more 🤣🤣
I’m not rushing for this at full price, it’s more akin to a mobile game these days.
That said I’ve not played this one but knowing Nintendo it’s unlikely to break the wheel. -

Registered 9 years agoI guess so? In reality I started at about half-past midnight (about 23 hours ago), so I've only really been on it a day.
But whatever, I'm sure it will unlock for everyone soon enough! -

Registered 10 years agoNot sure if this has already been posted but for anyone who tried Pocket Camp, you can get some extra gubbins in New Horizons if you use the same account: https://ac-pocketcamp.com/en-GB/site/horizons
No idea if it's worth having or not - haven't been able to start the game yet. -

Registered 4 years agoSo apparently if you play this game with multiple people on the same Switch you share the island instead of each having their own. I played in the morning and when my gf started the game on her account in the afternoon, she was sent to my island to pitch her tent there. Absolutely ridiculous, can't even visit eachothers town. All the fruit I picked is still gone when she's playing later in the day so that's a fun experience. It's 2020 Nintendo, seriously. -

Registered 13 years agoI've got a wife and 3 girls all who wanted to play this as well. Absolutely shite that I cant have my own island and they have their own. -

Registered 15 years agoPeople are going to get annoyed at a single island on a single device. And I reckon a fair number of those will think “Sod it, I’ll go and buy a Switch Lite and have my own island”. And then Nintendo profits. They’re not soft, Nintendo know what they’re doing here. -
Despite the completely reasonable and understandable complaints about a single island, I must say that the game is much more fun when every one is in the same town / island. At least that had been my experience in past games -

Registered 13 years agoWell this is lovely. Not such a fan of the breakable tools, but the resources to keep making them seem plentiful enough and obviously it's only my second day so I'm expecting better tools to come along soon enough. -

Yeah its been fun playing AC with my son tonight. However the main issue seems to be that only I can give Nook creatures etc for the Museum which in turn seems to unlock more stuff.

So at the moment it appears only that everyone bar me is locked out of progress for the Island. Doesn't seem right. -

Registered 2 years ago1. Starting two players on the same day was a bad idea. We struggled to find enough twigs to get through the tutorial second time around as the resources don't scale up at all. I sense already that it's going to be hideous sharing an island with two regular players.
2. Pick your island very carefully, you can't cross rivers yet so everything has to be built in the area where the welcome centre and airport is located. We're packed in like it's Central London ffs! I could have shed a tear when I had to find yet another plot for the museum.

You will be able to cross rivers very, very soon!
Anyway, the first house upgrade is definitely worth doing quickly. For the storage space if nothing else.
