    Wow, 10,000 Bells is a present for shooting a ballon down. Very generous!

    It's New Leaf with many QoL improvements and several new features. NL is a great game so try it first.
    Though if you have Switch online and know you like the game, it’d make some sense to get NH in order to have the social aspect.

    I’m actually enjoying it quite a bit at the moment as I constantly have a target to aim for. I’m looking forward to some of the terraforming stuff later but I had my flat-mate visit (and vice versa) today to share fruit and give me a vaulting pole early. I’ve got Blathers coming tomorrow so I’ll get the shovel, and I’ve got stacks of bugs and fish to give him immediately. I bought the bag upgrade so I can carry more, and tomorrow I’m going to focus on getting the improved tools.

    I've made a fortune today by selling my natural fruit at Anfield. Can already pay off my debt for the house but the stalk market might be tomorrow? Not sure if it will turn up or not this early on though.

    Gates to Snowtown are open while I'm asleep, if you want apples or things that might only be autumnal (I don't know how different the seasons are in this yet). There's apples on trees across the river, and a vaulting pole near my house if you don't have one of those yet.

    Yeah, but the social aspect will always be there, won't it? I can give NL a try for a week or two, and if it does appeal, I can buy NH.

    Tbh I don't really want a game that can eat up hours of my time, but it seems like AC is a good game to play in short bursts and have as part of a routine, so sounds really appealing right now.

    Visited Mola Ram and nabbed a vaulting pole. What an odd little game this is! Thanks Moley.

    @monkman76 Not sure if you were supposed to keep it or Moley let you borrow it to get around the island 😂

    Oops. The way he worded his earlier post, I assumed they were to take! I can bring it back...

    Don't forget to press R to access the second tab on the shop where more stuff is for sale.

    @rice_sandwich thanks, yes I’d seen that. From memory everything for sale was cosmetic but loading up in 30 mins and will take another look.

    4AM in Snowtown. Time to make mischief 😉

    @papalazar0u

    You can buy tools and tool recipes for anything you might be missing. Probably depends on current progress

    Not sure what I make of this so far. I’ve been playing in co op mode and the non lead character is extremely limited in what they can do when played like this
  • Deleted user 21 March 2020 17:30:21
    I've already caught a total of 26 bugs and fish. I've dumped a whole load of boxes outside in preparation for the museum opening.

    @northernlights

    Co-op is pretty rubbish. More fun to take turns.

    @rice_sandwich sorted it - I’d not unlocked the Nook Miles Redemption service, I have access now and can see all the extras!

    @erasr

    My early opinion is that It's excellent, the best one yet and an easy GOTY contender (though to be fair I am an AC super fan). As it's real time it will take a couple of weeks for folk to make a bit of progress and unlock new features, thus the lack of user opinions.

    Yeah. You need to give Animal Crossing time to be able to form an opinion. The slow pace forces you to play in bite-size chunks and it's only after a week or two it starts to get its claws into you.

    The enjoyment and general reward comes from developing your town, unlocking new places, saving for new projects, getting new residents and building your collections. All these things take time, but they're all the more rewarding for it.

    I think most folk will actually enjoy this one as long adds they don't spend too much time playing on the opening few days. There's a lot to unlock and discover, but initially it can feel very limited.
  • Deleted user 21 March 2020 17:57:19
    It saves as it goes. Circle on the top right shows saving. The island looks to be the biggest yet with loads of space once you can cross rivers. It's not an open world game so you don't need a lot of empty travel space which would be used to generate battles or events in other genres.

    @its-H1ggyLTD a blue circle spins in the corner. Or use the - button to save manually.
