New trailer for PES2020 has been released. Not giving that much away but I'm intrigued by the Master League revamp and like the look of the new camera angle. https://youtu.be/fK3_uf8FLHc Edited by ERG1008 at 11:34:46 12-06-2019 |

* Nets still wrong in some way
* Better goalkeepers than last year, but not really
* Shooting is weird in some way
* I can't believe they haven't got that license
* Syrette: Not as good as FIFA -

Registered 18 years ago@challenge_hanukkah I'm not mate, no.
As someone who plays mostly offline and, as EA can't be arsed doing anything new with Career Mode in FIFA but introducing a street game for da kidz and YouTube shitz-n-gigglz, this looks to hopefully have some improvement in the single-player experience via Master League.
@THFourteen No mention of Switch at the moment which seems daft as there's
a massive audience/demand for it. -

Registered 14 years agoI would be happy if they ported one of the PS2 PES’s to Switch and 3D’s the graphics up a bit.
PES’s since the PS2 have been utter shite. They phone it in every year knowing the loyal fans will keep buying it hoping it has recaptured past glories. Konami don’t really give a shit about console games anymore so it’s unlikely we’ll get a decent PES ever again. -

The AI in 2019 was not very good imo. And the presentation is still absolutely awful. Though I moan about that every single year and still buy it.
But I agree with decks, largely it's very good and the on pitch stuff is miles ahead of FIFA, which is still a flashy, cartoonish joke of a game despite attempts to be more of a sim, and I will not ever be convinced otherwise.
I got sucked into that myclub garbage last year, which I regret. It's just mobile game cheap grinding and there is some weird shit going on with the netcode/scripting on it. It plays completely differently to a regular online exhibition against someone.
Once I stuck to master league I was very happy with it.
Definitely buying it this year. -
A cursory glance at the fifa reddit page shows that it's still for clowns. Look at the speed, angle and flight of that ball! Ridiculous.

Registered 7 years agoLooking forward to the new Finesse dribbling. It sounds like it's gonna give you a more fluid and calculated way out of tight spots, but in a more organic way. Last year you could sidestep dribble past players by tapping right stick up and the left stick in the direction you're facing. However, it would only do the move after the second input. With Finesse dribble, on you put the first input in, the animation begins. This is a big deal. I think. -

Registered 9 years agoPES is good vs other people.... the computer seems incapable of pressing though. Makes it too easy to see out a win. Hopefully they can address that this time round. -

Really? They're all over me like flies round shit on Master League on Superstar. I daren't switch it to Legend. Surely you just get humped.

Defenders have superhuman stamina. I'll knock it about in midfield and play a great through ball through to a quick striker or winger, who will get a few years ahead. Yet the AI managed to catch them every fucking time or get enough contact on the man to make you balloon it over. Happens to me every game.
They also press like demons. Can't have the ball at your feet for more than 2 seconds.
I really didn't like the AI in last years. It felt very cheap and unfair.
Goalkeepers are also completely buff. You can have about 27 shots in a match and they will save them all. Sometimes the statistics screen after the game is hilarious. You'd never see it in real life that frequently. 27 shots to the CPU's 1 or something and you lose 1-0.
Sure, that can happen sometimes in real life, but it happens far too often in PES.

Registered 16 years agoI know i say this every year but this year i mean it - i'm giving up on PES.
All i ever play is myclub which is free and lets be honest, shit.
When i do choose to do a master league or cup, there's always been a data patch or an update that f*cks with my PC patches, and means i have to go through the fucking pain in the ass process of downloading multiple files from dodgy websites and re-installing from scratch to get what i want.
The offline gameplay modes are fuckign bogus
And its not on switch.
For that reason, i'm out.

I'll wait for a sale or something. Last year was OK but it still feels like a PS2 game in terms of features and presentation. -

Konami please release a fancy version of ISS on switch . Watch the sales stream in.

Registered 9 years agoI’m sure i’ll buy when it inevitably goes on sale for £20 in November. I really feel like I need a change but fifa just doesn’t do it for me. Certainly not last years anyway. -
@robc84 hah, that is exactly what I do every year too. I enjoy every year too. The criticism of the presentation is absolutely fair though, it still feels clunky and confusing. Every year. -

Hah! Agreed, last couple of years have been decent, but it does all start to feel really smart after a couple of seasons. That’s football games in general though rather than just PES.
Every year I say i’m not buying a football game and every year I bite when it goes in the sale.gif)
I get my money’s worth out of it though to be fair. -

Registered 6 years agoApparently there's big changes to master league this year!
Which probably equates to a new font.
I'll probably do what I always do, buy it when it's cheap, play online until I get high enough up the leagues to start getting beat all the time, have a couple of nights of absolute fury before having a word with myself and deciding that it's best I uninstall as it's starting to affect my mental health. -

Registered 18 years agoI'll do what I always do. Say I'm not buying it then cave because I enjoyed the demo. I really liked last year's though. Same again with (proper) changes to master league and I'll buy it. -

Registered 18 years ago@Decks The Master League is the main thing that intrigues me but you're probably right. They really, really need to fix the transfer system and regens too.
@Dougs I hammered PES2017 including the long and drawn out process of creating my own Option File on the X1 so couldn't be arsed doing it for 18 & 19 hence I'm still playing Fifa 18 (hardly any assists and good sliders) but I really love the ball physics in what we've seen.
From most of the videos on YT the AI isn't pressing much which makes me think they're playing on a low difficulty as usually it Gegenpresses the shit out of you!
The other thing that bothers me with Konami is that they put up a demo that usually plays better than the full release, PES 2017 being a prime example. -
