Registered 16 years agoNot yet, closed beta July 30th and release is August 18th.
Just installed it on a spare pc I built to see how it runs, i5-2400 with 16GB 1600mhz ram and a 1050ti, runs at 30 fine with what I imagine is Xbox One quality around medium and a few other options on low. -

Registered 16 years agoThat's good to know, I was getting kind of nervous I might not be able to run it at all but that's not a million miles away from my specs. I wouldn't even want it to run well, I'd settle for 20fps at 1366 * 768 and low settings. -

Registered 16 years agoWith a 750ti it gave me a warning that its underpowered when I started installing the game. -

Registered 16 years agoDoes it still run though? I'm pretty sure my graphics card is my weakest link and it's at least on par with a 750ti. Can't remember exactly what it is but it'd certainly be in the same ballpark. -

Registered 16 years ago@DFawkes I didn't actually try it with the 750ti, had my mate swap my 1050ti out of his gf's crappy old pc that I lent the gpu. -

Registered 16 years agoAh, cool
I probably should've figured that out from a few posts above but I'm not smart.
I still hope there's a demo of some description as I'd hate to buy it and find out it doesn't run at all on my PC. I can't see that happening but you never know. -

Registered 17 years ago@DFawkes you could get one of those short, cheap, trials for Game Pass I guess if you wanted to take it for a test flight? -

I don’t know how a 1050ti compares to a 1070 but I was trying some different combinations of settings last night (on the alpha, not sure what version the press preview/ beta one is - although it may be the same, should really read the forum!). My normal settings were 80% of 4k and mostly medium settings (with things like texture resolution on ultra and clouds on high) and it’s quite stable at 30fps. Kind of determined that I prefer 1440p on ultra at 35-40 fps a bit more now though. The game looks generally mental at any settings so it has quite a wide window to try and get your machine into.

The gamertag ID on that pic seems so small to me, when you play the alpha or beta at 5880x1080 those turn huge and replicated with 2 huge green and purple hues copying my gamertag. Not long til its gone and the game is out.

Registered 16 years agoThis is really closing in quick! Just over a week now. Probably safe to say I'm never getting in the beta so I guess I'll just have to give them money if I want to play it
Still looks to be shaping up pretty well and from what you're all saying, it sounds pretty scalable. -

Registered 13 years agoYeah just get gamepass Fawkes!
I've kind of lucked into this - wasn't on my radar, bought my first ever gaming PC the other week for general gaming purposes and then noticed that this would be available for free a month later (already had gamepass for Xbox). I've never played a flight sim but I'm a bit of a map nerd so I'm pretty excited for it.
I've got a laptop with the new Ryzen 7 CPU and a 1660Ti - should be able to handle this pretty well shouldn't it? Worth upgrading my RAM from 8GB (2x4GB) to 16? -

Registered 12 years agoYes, I've seen it use 16GB of ram on it's own in the beta, so that without counting windows and all the other crap running in the background. -

Registered 13 years agoOK. My limited understanding was that RAM wasn't that important for gaming (though dual channel better than single) except for certain cases. If it will make a tangible difference in this then I think that's a good enough excuse for me to cough up. -

Registered 16 years agoI went overboard and grabbed 2 sticks of 16GB with my ryzen build, did delay the second purchase for a month or 2.
I'm getting this on Steam unless news appears about dx12, I only heard its running on dx11 in the beta, I must add I have no idea if true, its just a vague memory from a talking head on youtube. -

It means at the moment certain performance saving options like variable rate shading or asynchronous compute wouldn't be available and image wise there's no ray tracing option but they've said those are coming later.
