    Is it compatible with VR?

It will be. First with the new HP headset, jointly made with Valve and Microsoft. Others to follow.

This headset collab is one reason I have made up a story that it will be launched for Xbox series X, with alyx and flight sim as launch titles :p

You sure MS is involved with the new reverb? Because MS and Valve aren’t the best of friends. Or at least they didn’t used to be.

    @Fake_Blood from HP website:

Developed in collaboration with Valve and Microsoft, our breakthrough VR headset delivers a more immersive, comfortable, and compatible experience.

    And then this:

"That includes Valve’s co-founder, Gabe Newell, who has pledged his allegiance to Microsoft’s tower of power. In an interview on The Project, a New Zealand television programme, Newell didn’t even flinch when probed about which console is best and confidently proclaimed, “Xbox”. When asked “why?” by the host, Newell simply replied “Erm, because it is”. Hard to argue there."

In my dreams he left out that it was because alyx was coming for xsx.

Alright, but you could interpret that as it’s a wmr headset, and the other part is Gabe going “the xbox has the more powerful hardware”. Not really pledging allegiance in my book.

I'm finding it almost too open at the moment, which is weird as I typically like 'pointless' games.

I need more challenges, and tasks to really get under the hood of the mechanics. The world is so big it's hard to know what to do sometimes, not helped by maybe having an hour every other days tops to jump in.

Is anyone running this on an original launch xbox? Asking for a friend.

Yeah obvs, but there is more of a kernel to this than every single part of qanon.

I've taken the plunge on the super-duper deluxe version. Found myself playing more of this than I expected to - it can be curiously relaxing to go pootering around looking at landmarks for 30 mins or so before bed.

Isn't the deluxe versions some extra planes and more detail on some air ports?

Yeah as a game pass peasant (who's admittedly really enjoying the game) it seems astonishingly bad value.

Yep. Unless you’re an enthusiast and have a hardcore lob on for one of the exclusive planes or a deep interest into the differences between each individual configuration (some of the planes are slightly different versions of the core versions) it’s not worth it in the slightest.

I believe the airports are all in the marketplace to buy seperate, and most the extra planes are same model but different version.

I'm going to carry on with the gamepass version, they have spoken about it coming to WMR headsets first with the new reverb headsets so I'm guessing it may be windows stroe version only for that.

The best plane in the ultra deluxe edition is the Dreamliner, but you’re not going to be taking that one out tootling over Shropshire for a quick joyflight.

@Your-Mother Funny you should say that... because that's curiously close to what I did last night. :)

Yeah I don’t get who the fancypants versions are aimed at really. No hardcore lad is going to buy it for the planes, because they’re not deeply modelled enough. Must really love some of those more detailed airports for the one time per year they use them I suppose.

I got the ultra premium because I do have a particular lob on for the Dreamliner. And the SR22 is nice. Couldn’t give a flying (arf) shit about the airports though. I’m definitely in the enthusiast level for this stuff, specialist equipment like ATC controllers and using a spare tablet as a Garmin panel etc.

More seriously, I wanted the fancypants version because I did a load of work for Heathrow a few years ago and got to know bits of the airport very well. When I get the chance, I'm going to nerd out properly over how they've implemented it in the game.

It's great but the 'micro transactions' are quite egregious after paying 60 quid.

Welcome to the world of simulators. DLC can tot up to thousands of dollars if you for some reason decide to buy it all.

So, mine patched itself tonight. Relatively painless for a Windows Store install.

Can't say I saw much difference in performance. Think this was just a minor patch fixing install issues and some specific Simconnect stuff.

Still considering dropping my i5-6600K for something a little beefier.. Seems that the CPU is the bottleneck, even over my recently-made very aged gtx1070.

DCS I seen first but for a real eye opener go to X-Plane 11 steam page, the total price to add all to cart is £1880.

Check out Train Simulator 2020. That’s $10,000+ of DLC there.

And once you realise this the super duper version isn't actually that bad a deal.

Got that version also and no regrets.
