I got one! I need to check the Insider hub app thing again to see if Flight Simulator has appeared in it yet.

Is it bad/morbid that I'm intrigued to see what the crashes (plane, not game) are like in this?

There are definitely some situations where I'd like to see damage. I'm thinking more in relation to a botched landing where you accidentally snap off a wheel or something. Anything where you can salvage the situation as it's flyable.

You definitely seem the type to reenact 911 while masturbating.

I just want to see if I can fly over places I recognise; where I work, where I live, where I grew up, popular dogging sites...

I honestly can't see it being anywhere near as good as they're claiming. It'll be all hype. They say you can fly VFR alone, using landmarks you know, but I just can't see it happening for a pokey little place like my home county (outside of maybe the Forth bridges). I get that it's generated from mapping data so in theory the roads should be mostly fine, but I can't see that illusion standing up to close scrutiny.

That said, I do hope I'm wrong. I'm mostly just trying to anti-hype myself a bit :p

Do they show dogging sites in Bing maps?

It does work though, big cities are spot on, smaller towns have sort of auto generated buildings based on what roof type they’ve detected in the satellite imagery.

The NDA is STRICT, but I keep firing this up and playing it because I keep wanting to recreate real life journeys in it and see how they look / how I do with the navigation. I could say more, but I'd have to kill you.

@ZuluHero Hopefully it'll just be the same coverage as https://www.bing.com/maps with a little ai generation.

Still waiting for invite myself so no idea really.

@Fake_Blood I've done lots of random ones.. think my favourite was out of Denver International in to the mountains (where I've been snowboarding in real life and only done the journey by car). Obviously flown around Leeds and found my house and work. Jersey across the channel to London City. Faro in Portugal along the Algarve to my friend's house in Sagres. Think I need to try out some huge Asian cities.

I'm still a little salty I never got into any of the tests so far. I'm going to act all super entitled and not buy the game now. They don't want me to play? Fine, no cash for you.

    That's a lie, I'm definitely buying it.

    ALPHA BUILD UPDATE

The team is currently focusing on releasing an updated Alpha build which we are planning to release next week.

Build notes for the upcoming Alpha update:

    HIGHLIGHTS

We’ve added Groups to multiplayer, and while still early in development you should be able to Add Friends and find them on the world map, and click to join them.
We’ve added Training Missions for those who are new to Flight Simulator. These missions will take you through the Basic Controls, Attitudes and Instruments, and Take-off, Level flight and Landing.
The Cessna 152 has been added and is now cleared for takeoff
We’ve added Live Events which are time-limited activities that we plan to switch out with different events frequently.
Peripherals Support has been improved, and more devices added. Please note that due to these changes, previous mappings from the Alpha will no longer work with the current Alpha.
We are hard at work prepping the airliners for release in the next Alpha update!

Its been updated but it gets all fucked up follow this.

Search for khalpha under users folder that will be under local/packages and delete it next uninstall the app itself then reinstall fresh. Surprised Ms haven’t said this really in the notes as I bet this is widespread.
