    @Addy__ To be fair, I am rubbish - but you could maybe give a mushroom a bit quicker, even right at the start of the level... but as I said, I am rubbish and others will no doubt find it easier. The clear pipe runs are great, though. I'm going to have to try them out myself.

    @Theticket

    Keep an eye on those coins at the start and maybe see if you could use that bullet as a platform? ;)

    @Addy__ Not a bad first level. Bit enemy spammy, but you can dodge them easy enough. Don't know if you intended this but in the second half I just went over the top of everything so I don't know what's there in truth. Players will try to "cheese" your levels so if you want to stop that then put a vertical wall from top to bottom of at least 1 block thick. It'll also stop the screen scrolling so you can also make rooms or different areas if you like.

    @EvilAspirin

    Yeah i tried to make it multiple routes but I appreciate those who just want to clear it will go the top route. The bottom route is harder and contains some sub areas. Sorry can you elaborate what you mean via the vertical wall from top to bottom. I know what you mean but not sure on its execution if that makes sense?

    @Theticket Pretty good level. I died in a few stupid ways, but that's on me as a player not you as a maker. Your level description says "Can you find all the coins?" but there's no clear condition to do so. I'm fine with that, but it might confuse some players and some might avoid your level if searching course world because coin collection isn't overly popular. Just a thought.

    @Addy__ Yeah sure. So in the course maker you can see that a horizontal course has two screens in height and then however many you choose in width. If you use 'Ground' tiles or 'Hard Blocks' and make a vertical line from top to bottom without a gap in that line then the game will take that as a sign to stop the screen from scrolling.
    If on a vertical course in the sub-area then you'd need a full horizontal line of 'Ground' tiles or 'Hard Blocks'.
    If for instance you wanted to make a room then you'd just need to draw around the outside of the screen fully (where the thicker grid line is) and make a box. You can then use a 'Warp Door' or 'Pipe' to access it. The room doesn't just need to be exactly one screen in size though. You can play around with it and make custom size rooms, warp back and forth between others and make it feel like a real Nintendo level if you wanted.
    Hope that helps.

    New levels added.

    @DuffKing - A Chill on the Winds, great classic mario level design. Very entertaining.

    @EvilAspirin - Loved the On/Off switch level, very cunning, but not crazy hard like some levels (I'm not a mario ninja).

    Speak of which @Toonster - Great use of the long jump, but I am not good enough at it to actually finish the level.

    @Theticket - Much more my speed, love a classic simple mario level. Looking forward to trying out your latest.

    @Omniabsence - I couldn't get your level to load, have you got another code for it?

    Great stuff everyone, really enjoying the range of levels on show.

    I made a couple of levels today, they are very basic though, just learning the ropes really.

    DX4-C4P-90G
    LH6-DLB-GTG

    I really didn't think I would use the level creator but I switched it on earlier and couldn't stop, it's really well done. Lots to learn though!

    Some of the levels are, and I'll be polite, not great. Randomly killing a player with something off-screen or forcing blind jumps isn't fun and a couple of these levels I really had to force myself to finish. We all have to start somewhere but try to remember that just because you know where things are in a level because you are making it, doesn't mean the player will. Low clear rates are fine to aim for, but if a player notices unfair random stuff or tons of enemies just designed to kill them then they'll probably skip your level.
    I have one or two of those in mine. Watching g the Giant Bomb streams of them making 'fuck you' moments. I think they're quite funny if used sparingly.

    @the_milkybar_kid - There are YouTube and Twitch streamers who specialise in Steaming Hot Garbage, and there are tons of people fighting to get showcased on these channels, which is why there is a LOT of Trolling going on. It's an inevitable consequence of wanting fame and/or infamy.

    My third level is uploaded; 86J-D5X-0JG

    Hint; Learn to spin-hop and butt stomp. You'll need the acceleration.

    Levels added.

    New one from myself. Went for something a bit different this time, it's a level with no enemies and no deathtrap. Just exploration and platforming (although watch out for the time limit).

    So I have played two more EG levels from EvilAspirn and Themilkybarkid. EvilAspirn your level was too easy but well made. Themilkybarkid I am surprised you got your 4 year old son to help make this level and I couldn't even finish it. Was looking for the damn last 5th key (lol).

    Anyway will be playing everyone else's levels as well as me in the process of making my second level. Will be on its way soon.

    I'm guilty too, but it isn't intentional. My first level has a green shell guy that will drop down at the start and kill the player from nowhere, but only if the player takes a few tentative approaches to the first obstacle missing a few opportunities to progress. Completely not designed to be a fuck you over, just not thinking about players taking a much longer time over certain sections.

    My second level I admit I screwed up not putting coins on the big jump, but kinda thought it was obvious as there was a car to drive and a big ramp...

    That said I only realised last night watching it be played that the vines are an instant death if in the car where as jumping on them is how you kill them... I never tested landing on them whilst in the car.

    It is tricky to be sure of being fair to the player.

    @DakeyrasUK - Being fair in Mario Maker is extremely difficult. My first level I just realised has a softlock, which... is an oversight on my part. That's the thing; you've got to put yourself in the head of someone who isn't familiar with the level, play it over and over, work out every nuance and kink and flaw. Quality is hard.

    ... that being said, understanding that now also is making me evil. I am hard at work on my fourth level, and oh yes, it's my first ever Troll Level.

    At least the music will be AWESOME.

    Same here @Wavey, all your levels were great fun to run through at full speed. Always been a bit of a slower paced Mario player, but this has definitely given me a taste for speed running.

    @Navi - It takes all sorts of stages, but for me it's just the whole World Record thing. Mmmnmmm validation is so gooooooood!

    But a good speedrun stage is a lot of fun and it's especially fun when you consider that some of them... aren't meant to be speedruns in that sense. You're exploiting the gaps and the breaks and the physics to do something that the level creator never intended. You've sort of ruined their plan.

    And a terrible and terrifyingly large part of me... enjoys that idea.

    That's my new course uploaded. I've tried to keep it classic Mario, with a fair few secrets and not overly difficult.

    Night Swimming
    SNF-5RL-R2G

    Now to try some of the new courses you lot have created!

    @Theticket - First clear! I'm on your stage's page... fOrEvEr... ;)

    It's a decent level too. Didn't cause me too many issues, slipped through the gaps a bit, the big coin is... a decent enough distraction for some I guess.

    (edit; there's actually an achievement/outfit for being the first person to clear a stage so... incentive enough to try other peoples codes!)

    @BearFishPie - I approve of the pun in the second one! :p

    First one... I think my eye betrays me on pixel-perfect stuff like that these days, sorry. Still, I can see the streamers loving that so... good luck!

    @Kami Thank you! The first is a bit on the brutal side, absolutely - I tried to keep it short to avoid it being too frustrating an experience but yes, it demands very high precision.

    @BearFishPie - It's VERY good though, Captain Viridian would be proud. Well, he would be after he was finished wondering where the hell he'd turned up to!

    (Personally, and this is very personal preference, as an homage to VVVVVV's artstyle I'd have maybe used OG Super Mario theme but that's splitting hairs.)

    Note; I still have some stages waiting for a first clear if anyone fancies sticking their names permanently on them.

    @Kami Hooray! Not bad for a (revised) first effort at stage building then.

    Youíre quite right about the aesthetic - if I revisit the concept Iíll probably go OG Mario.

    @BearFishPie - Indeed. It's still a very good go at a V.V.V. stage.

    Ahem. Here's my FULL line-up of stages so far (and my personal difficulty ratings)

    Big Bully Mountain Bash - 115-TNV-J2G (Normal)
    Not So Fast! - RL0-C9Q-7YG (Normal)
    Race To The Bottom - 86J-D5X-0JG (Easy)
    Trollin' in the Night Garden - GRH-VXG-KPG (Troll)
    oh! Fireballs. - VRD-LDQ-6FF (Expert)

    Yeah, I had a full day to myself and since I can't really get outside on my own thanks to this flat, I made two levels.
