    Well, here it is.

It's got a dpad innit. Not dockable. Smaller, $199.

Looks as expected. Not a lot to say about it. The UK price point will be interesting. If $199 ends up as £199 it feels too expensive.

Well. Seeing as I only use my Switch on the go, I could be tempted - if the price is right...

Nothing there to tempt me from the standard Switch. I currently use it docked and handheld so would miss the ability to dock.

I hope they've fixed the joycon drift issues with the lite given that they can't be removed.

Slightly smaller screen, and an actually usable d-pad are things I wish I had on the original Switch too. Shame this wasn't available at launch. I don't care much about docked mode or detachable joycons either.

On the other hand, I paid a ridiculously low price for mine back then (230 euro for the Odyssey bundle, when the retail price was 380 euro) and the dock is useful to recharge the console without thinking too much about it. So I can't complain too much.

Plus, detachable joycons are good for one thing: I imagine there is no way to use the Flip Grip with this Lite model. And holding it vertically by itself doesn't seem too comfortable.

If there's a Pokemon Sword/Shield bundle it will make my Christmas shopping a whole lot easier this year.

@minky-kong - Yeah. I can see this being pitched more to the younger crowd; big bright colours, game bundles and whatnot.

My only real question is... have they really excised the whole TV connectivity thing? I was under the impression that was an OS/Firmware thing. It seems a little bonkers to have a separate OS/Firmware, so... in theory, could it still connect to a TV via third-party means?

    Genuinely curious.

Do we know if that's a Hori dpad, or Nintendos own attempt at one?

How is it even still a 'Switch'? It's lost literally all of the functionality that justifies its name.

    Because it runs Switch games.

That's just the unit with some doodles on it though. I'm talking a bundle with the game. Pretty sure they'll be some of those, even if retailers have to do it themselves.

Well, they did at least rename the 3DS without 3D into "2DS".

Maybe they should have called it the Nintendo Witch.

I have been wishing they were calling the portable only version the ‘Itch’ ever since it became obvious they would make one. (Which is essentially as soon as I bought a Switch on Odyssey’s launch day).

I quite like that, and would love a d-pad. And I never use it docked - if I'm at home I feel obligated to play the PS4 games I can't play anywhere else.

But I already have two Switches in the house, so I can't possible justify it ...

Anyway, I mostly play in portable mode, so this possibly interests me. Particularly if they've improved the battery life.

I've probably gotten too deep into Mario Maker 2, but I'd have laughed if they had called it the Nintendo P-Switch.

Disappointed at the lack of a dock mode. I was looking for something more like the Vita form factor that I could plug into the TV.

The lack of bluetooth is just baffling. What's their excuse this time?
