Looks nice. Bit expensive at the moment, but I could see myself getting one at some point so the switch fat can sit at home docked.

Would be nice if there was a simple sync between machines with the same account though, although Nintendo's track record on this is somewhat poor.

Our lad will be 5 next year and he loves the Switch. That's his birthday next year sorted. I really like the look of that turquoise one

I might consider getting my lad one but he has a lot of progress on my current Switch. We have cloud saves, will it work like I'm hoping it will or do I have to understand?

Sweet i am out! thats £200 saved out of the blue.

I love the way all the pictures have it being held one handed - it still doesnt fit in a pocket you caaants.

multiple things wrong with it for me - no bluetooth still, can't be docked (why, whats the restriction here? its slim enough), too big, having to swap cartridges between devices or pay extortionate eshop prices.... meh

I like the pokemon edition though. DOH

They really need a more robust system re saves/profiles. But knowing Nintendo, they will royally cock this.

Given how many people will be upgrading, I would be stunned if you couldn't carry your saves over somehow. Not even Nintendo would be that dense.

The analog sticks wouldn't fit in the dock.

    @BigOrkWaaagh

Doug Bowser says there will be a save transfer solution at some point.

Can you still buy and connect separate joycons for this?

Oh i see the screen is smaller. How fecking pointless is that. Its not like its small enough to make a difference, why downgrade the screen.

Wirelessly connect yes, not physically attach. You would also need a means of charging them.

@BigOrkWaaagh I'm loosing interest by the minute now all the cons are coming to light. Pardon the pun .

With all it's shortcomings it really needs to be £150 ish but we know it wont be :(

    It'll most likely be £179.

@Kay Yeh, that's the dollar equivalent but i'm expecting a bit more knowing Nintendo.

Given the switch plays primarily mobile games and minesweeper clones they should add the ability to make calls and send texts.

I think Kay is probably spot on with the price. I'm not saying it's worth that amount, but they don't need to sell it any cheaper than that. Many folk believed the original Switch launch pricing to be steep and it is still yet to see an official price drop.

Also, I'm liking the yellow one! Not that I'm interested in getting one, personally. I probably play docked more often than portable and it's nice to have the option.

So if you plug in the TV cable (not dock) it doesn't do anything then?

So its £100 less than the full fat Switch? If I had plenty of cash I'd be tempted I think, but I like being able to dock. I think it will sell massively in Japan and the like.

Battery life is going to be the crucial thing.

If they can amp it up I will probably buy one and have the old switch docked 24/7/

Actually just did a comparison on the site and doesn't seem to be any point in getting this.

A good Dpad for the current Switch would be nice.

    Joy-con with a d-pad next, please.

Seems pointless to me, unless you want something for the kids that won't ever require use of the TV.

I'm glad I won't feel tempted to 'upgrade'.

You guys know D-Pad Joy Con already exist, right?

Yeah, I'm not quite sold on the Hori ones. I mean the price is right so maybe I should just nab one.

Ideally I would like both a left and right joycon with a D-pad for the left and larger buttons on the right.

The Hori ones don't have a battery though and can only be used in handheld mode. No rumble either. They also used to have an issue with draining the Switch's battery.

@Load_2.0 Nintendo have apparently confirmed today that they have no plans on introducing a d-pad to their Joy Con range.
