Ahem. Ixillis down. Took maybe 20 attempts, and every three or four I came agonisingly close to getting over the finish line. Razor thin margins on that one. The difficulty was massively increased by the push attacks and the fact that YOU DO THE WHOLE FIGHT ON A TINY FUCKING BRIDGE.
Really enjoyed that one - proper punching the air moment. The Unclean One had been challenging, but on that I could feel myself progressing each time. With Ixillis I was hitting a brick wall with that final bar of health it has.
Anyways - onwards to the next area! -

Registered 16 years ago@Phattso Ixillis is horrible. When I played this through co-op, my co-op partner very nearly ditched the game at that point. But yes, it's a proper Dark Souls "FUCK YEAH" moment when he goes down.
No other boss in the game was anything like as tough for me. -

Registered 17 years agoFingers crossed that holds through for the remainder of my first run. And already I'm thinking of it as the first of many - this has a really satisfying loop, now that I know how more about how the random generation works, timing in the combat, etc. etc. -

Registered 16 years ago@Phattso You may know already, but once you've finished the game, you unlock something akin to Diablo 3's adventure mode, where you can go back to the biomes and run them again at a rebalanced difficulty. -

Registered 17 years agoOh, I didn't realise that. Does that just let you pick and choose where to go farming, as opposed to a linear re-run of the whole game? Sounds useful if so! -

Registered 17 years agoStorm Caller and Ravager down. Three attempts and one attempt respectively. On the final boss now.
It’s an almost Destiny-esque fight this. Just got to be patient and stop trying to do it in one loop. Got to 28 buffs on one attempt. Perhaps half that and multiple loops is more sensible than doing for glory. :-D
Save file says 25 hours on the clock. Not bad going. -

Registered 17 years agoI haven't reached that level of aggravation just yet. In fact I'm chomping at the bit to have another go.
I've had to actually - GASP - go into work in person today, so no sneaky bunking off for half an hour here and there for gaming. Doesn't feel right. My human rights are being impinged here.

Registered 17 years agoFinal boss down. Came back to it completely cold this morning and did it on my first attempt, without breaking a sweat. Two loops. Could’ve been one but I messed up my reload timings and wasted hot shot.
I’ve really enjoyed this one. Excited for whatever they do next. Onwards to adventure mode, I guess! -
