    Remember you can always reroll your campaign (I don't know how it affects your progress, I accept no liability).

    Apparently some (all?) of the bosses drop different things depending on how you kill them. And there are several different possible bosses in each zone. Join somebody else's game or reroll your own and you can end up with a very different playthough.

    The bosses are all pretty shit tbh. They all rely on chucking unending adds at you throughout.

    Thanks for confirming what I suspected re: regeneration. What I need to check next time I play is whether the regeneration is absolute or if it only fills the current segment of his health bar - the former would make it much tougher and, yes, even tempt me to re-roll the campaign (given I'm only a few hours in).

    Anyway, the game is otherwise really enjoyable. I just think since (or because of?) Sekiro I've developed a real aversion to slogging away at bosses 20+ times.

    It also seems the difficulty is pretty much luck. I kept running into those double hard sword bastards in the sewer. But the time I made it through I didnít encounter any. Not sure Iím against that idea actually. Means itíll always be doable eventually. Combat is fun enough so that itís not a problem. Yet.

    Think I'll bite the bullet and go for it since I've just made £30 getting rid of some old games.

    @wuntyphyve

    It took me a while, but I finally worked out you can shoot them in the legs. Preferably with the shotgun.

    The Subway section was the hardest bit I've faced so far - so many mobs, plus the occasional sword guy, the odd brute with a two handed sword, and several fire-faced-fucks. The stuff since has been relatively easy.

    @wuntyphyve Shotgun is your best bet with the sword guys. Roll back when they swing then unload and it staggers them.

    Ah. I should get one. I went for the scout type build with the rifle.

    When we say sword guys, do you mean the big fellas with the big sword who charge you, or the smaller fellas with a sword in each hand who block gunfire?

    Gah massive download. Fuck off.

    @neems the blocking ones. Donít mind the big chaps so much. But the blocking ones can do one.

    Still, spent half an hour exploring the ward after I found a key card. Interesting...

    Mmm not raving about this so far. Feels a bit low budget and dull so far. Hopefully it will pick up.

    My two biggest tips - upgrade your guns, and don't be afraid to burn through the ammo. If you die you get it all back anyway, and badguys drop a surprising amount. You can also buy ammo boxes cheaply from Reggie.

    @Addy__ Iím expecting not to be blown away by the graphics and shit, hence why Iím still ďwaiting for a saleĒ. Looks like an ďaĒ game at best from presentation I imagine.

    Probably a rainy weekend with a mate kind of experience when theres some room in the release schedules.

    @ChiefGB

    Had a couple of hours on it and it's ok. I just can't shake the F2P type quality vibe I'm getting from it though. Gunplay is decent but I don't like the roll. Feels a bit clunky.

    I'll give it another session tonight and see if it grows on me.
  • Deleted user 25 August 2019 09:46:25
    Apparently the game gets far better once you leave the earth area, more varied enemies etc. Guess I'm being a bit hasty.

    I agree that initially this feels a bit "eh", but once you find the first few hidden things (Ward 13 for example), it seems much more comprehensive. And I do quite like the settings & lore.

    Also, I finally beat my first boss after coming back at it fresh this morning. \o/

    Shroud is a considerably easier first boss than gorefist

    @Addy__ it deffo starts rough but Iím enjoying it the more I play it. Itís obviously not had the money thrown at it that some games have but hell, Itís drawing me in regardless.

    Towards the end of earth the game really picks up. 2 good world boss battles ( you will get either one ). The lore expands massively in world 2. With secrets and riddles you may not even be able to solve depending on your luck.

    Yeah I guess I found it a bit jarring at the start. I will give it more time tonight. I picked the class that has the shotgun fwiw.

    I just bought the hunting rifle even though I started with shotgun. You can swap between them at any time so no reason not to pick it up. Long range is quite useful for some bits.

    @Frogofdoom

    Yeah I had him (Singe?), took me a couple of goes but I enjoyed it. Almost out of health and ammo by the time I was done, I really should put an ammo box in my quick select. I just hate using consumables unless I really have to.

    Got the Spitfire SMG for my trouble, but I haven't tried it yet. I'm gonna have a session tonight.

    Been using the smg with the root thingy, it's really good as it recharges inside a couple of mags.

    Same as you with singe, there was nothing to hide behind near the end really and I was thankful for 3 ammo boxes that I burned through. The consuma le that removes burning is very handy for him.
